25.01.2022 After recently moving to the area from Bondi Move With Matt regular Gina made her decision to start the unknown. . 25.01.2022 I’ve coached over 5,500 sessions . I’ve coached hundreds of people . I’ve sent hundreds of texts... . I’ve made hundreds of calls . Why are these ‘stats’ important? . They actually aren’t if I don’t show up again tomorrow and do it again . And again and again.. that’s what business is . Don’t feel like it? The sun will still go down regardless of how you feel . The world goes on . It’s up to you. . The truth is I had no idea about business, marketing, finance, nutrition, coaching . I had to learn and by learn I mean show up everyday and continue to read, listen and watch. . Sometimes I’ll have to read the same page twice, sometimes I’ll have to replay that audio back again but I do it until I get it . Reps are so important. Focus on putting 110% into any task and that task will repay you in crazy ways . Just have faith. . Post covid I made a huge decision to take the long path, to change up my whole gym model, take another risk, bring out an online product. . A lot of people won’t understand but you need to. 25.01.2022 While I get the question around: How lose fat around my stomach? How can I lose weight around my butt and thighs?... Weight loss is weight loss. Everyone is different. Some will lose off their arms first, some will lose off their face first, some will lose off their stomach. While we cannot control where we lose weight. We can control working with what we have been given and strengthening our weakness. If you want to tone your butt or thighs. Training them directly & consistently will help you build your physique. Not focusing on fat loss but focusing on: Sleeping 7-8 Hours Focusing on building Consistency Eating more protein Eating more calories are also key Be happy with what you’ve been given and work with it. Use this year to build a solid foundation. The exercise above are deficit lunges These are focused on the Glutes. The front foot is elevated to allow for more range of motion meaning more butt action. I’m working on some exciting things this year. Tomorrow I’m starting my first 28 day interval challenge. 24.01.2022 My 6 Rules . 1. Restore homeostasis - Before you start any diet you must be feeling good. Control daily stress, Get better sleep, Daily sunlight, Restore energy/mood & Libido. . 2. Find your maintenance calories. How many calories does it take for you to maintain your Bodyweight. (Input vs Output)... . 3. Take life into account. Remember this is your diet not someone else’s. . 4. Be consistent and persistent, there will be plenty of days you will want to quit . 5. Duration & Degree. How long will the diet be? 23.01.2022 We won’t give you a diet, a fat loss pill, a generic meal plan that’s been given to 700 other people or get you to do hours of cardio. Coming from long time client Ana, someone who had tried to do diets in the past, she tried doing more training, she did more cardio, while neglecting her nutrition.. it doesn’t work. 22.01.2022 My 6 Rules for burning belly fat permanently . Don’t eliminate everything all at once if you don’t have to. If you enjoy pizza have a pizza just make sure you account for it. . If you get triggered by eating 1 Tim Tam and feel you need to eat the whole packet, it’s probably a good idea to start your journey off more strict and disciplined then you can open up your diet later.... . Your not a failure if you fell off your plan they say Rome wasn’t built in one day but it was built with thousands of days consistently. Win most days and you win weeks. . Nothing is easy, somethings are simpler than others but nothing is easy. Don’t expect a result to be quick and easy it never pays. . It will never be perfect. You will have birthdays, date nights, family events on, enjoy yourself and have a plan in place to account for it. . I haven’t really focused on the scale as much (I had an obsession with it at one point and didn’t want to discourage myself with a number) but have occasionally taken my measurements. ... I have you to thank for this! So thank you so much for inspiring me and motivating me to push on (even if I want to vom after ) It’s still an ongoing journey but I’m loving every moment! . 20.01.2022 In 2005 I became obsessed.. Obsessed with my physique.. I cut a lot of people out of my life and literally focused on waking up, training, going to work (thinking about training) after work I would train again + go for a run.... Now for a lot of people looking at the photo on the left you would think being shredded feels amazing and I did (only for a short time). It’s a lot of hard work and once you get there you really question if it was worth it. In 2006 I got a rib cartilage injury which stopped me from training for 6 weeks. I lost all motivation, I was pissed off because I was losing my physique. I had NO energy, I had no idea why this was happening because I was still eating the same (meat and veggies). I was 69kg on the left. Look.. if you feel stuck right now, unmotivated, feel you’ve lost weight and you’re looking for a quick fix to lose it again.. you’re thinking about it wrong.. I was just like you trust me! The next 12-18 months of training was the toughest period of my life (training wise) as I didn’t know why my body wasn’t responding like it used it. I just couldn’t get back into the groove. The severe restriction of calories and overtraining was eventually taking its toll until I decided to educate myself and figure this out. Since that day I have not focused on fat loss at all. My focus was on health, feeling good, performing better at work, eating enough protein, sleeping better. The photo on the right is me at 78kg.. yes 9kg heavier and eating double the amount of calories (3000 calories a day). If you get anything out of this post: Yes, you must be in a calorie deficit to lose fat. Yes, you must be in a calorie surplus to gain lean tissue (muscle) or at maintenance at the least. That’s the science but let me share with you my biggest mistake.. My biggest mistake was fat loss at a comprised state (internally I was messed up). The more and more people I worked with I realised that you must earn the right to lose fat. You must prioritise your health first. You shouldn’t need 27 coffee’s to get going (although I love a coffee) then once you have fixed your biofeedback then Fat Loss may be a good place to start. In 15 days I’ll

The reason why rotation is important and should be trained regularly is that if we develop stiffness in the upper back, the areas above aka your neck and below will have to compensate to achieve proper movement. ... A common problem are people who sit at a desk all day looking at two monitors or people who drive a lot get neck pain. How does this happen? If you’re constantly jerking out your neck to look at each monitor or to look out of your blind spot while driving because you lack rotation through your upper back you will get neck pain as your neck is doing all the work. 12.01.2022 Me and @shell_123 have been working together for around 12 months. . She started with me under eating, her metabolism had adapted to lower calories. Over time I built her calories up before taking her through a super successful cut. . @shell_123 is eating more calories now than she was when she first started... and she’s still losing.... . I have always done some type of training but I was never really motivated enough to push myself. I didn’t see results and that was quite deflating. 10.01.2022 This photo was 4 years ago I started running free Saturday Bootcamp’s an idea I got from a business mentor from YouTube for free. I put a post on Facebook and sent all of my friends a message.... A few showed up. Neighbours, family and friends. Week by week, drip by drip the family grew. No idea what I was doing, I just started doing. Every session I ran I imagined I was on camera or I was being watched. I still think this every single session to this day. I repeat the saying ‘keep working like you started’ hundreds of times weekly. I still wake up some days feeling like I’m winging it, that’s a part of the journey. I want Move With Matt to be known for its service and its ‘small town’ feel. A place where you come, have a laugh, work hard, forget about the world, your problems and your phone.

I’m ADHA I literally can’t sit still for 4.5 seconds . The truth is I don’t. I just make a decision every single morning to always show up consistently and do what I can do. . I think we are all guilty of living fast-paced at some point, and the way you live leaves you exhausted, stressed and hungry for comfort food. You even begin to feel too busy to take care of your health. Trust me, I get it and its not your fault, seriously. If 2022 is going to be any different for you then it’s time to reprioritise. Let go of your perfectionist standards because its NEVER going to be perfect. Start really small (yes, like really really small) and start to remove a few commitments from your schedule so that you are able to cook one healthy meal, Walk 10 minutes a day and get a 30 minutes of better sleep. 01.01.2022 ARE YOU BORED? . This morning I had a group coaching call with my mastermind group the topic was around productivity.... How do you do the things your supposed to do? I personally use the power list. I got this from @andyfrisella (youtube the power list to check it out, super valuable) it’s changed my life. It’s 5 critical tasks you must do every single day to move you forward. Every critical task should be a little bit uncomfortable as every action you take is a vote you cast for your future identity. Do the hard things consistently and you will start to build some self reliance, self confidence, break beliefs and shift your identity. In the past I’ve been caught up with doing 35 things per day, these 35 things were ‘busy tasks’ to take me away from actually doing the hard shit. What the power list had told me is that there are fundamentals we must do everyday and most of the time they’re ‘boring’ and repetitive. . We must master the mundane ‘boring work’ every single day. Boring=Consistent and consistency=progress. If you want to lose fat you’ve got to be in a calorie deficit, resistance train, eat enough protein, get your steps in, drink water, sleep.. yes I know, it’s boring, it’s repetitive but boring=consistent. Where we get stuck is we start looking for new things, new workout shoes, new workout clothes, a new workout program, a new diet, a new drink bottle and we stop doing the fundamentals that really matter. 27.11.2021 I want to share Donna‘a story with us so far.. When Donna came to me she was eating under 1200 calories per day, over training and not losing weight. She had tried all the fad diets out there only to lose weight and gain it all back.... Want to know what the first conversation we had was? I told her that the reason why she hadn’t been able to lose fat was because she was always trying to lose fat! Meaning she was putting a Band-Aid on a deep cut. In order to fix this and earn the right to lose weight we had to fix her metabolism first, so we addressed this. We ensured her metabolism was healthy and ready for fat loss. Look at what happened when we started giving her body more fuel. Want to know the crazy thing? This was before we even attacked weight loss. There’s a reason why I always talk about how you should stop dieting? I also make mention of adding more wood to the fire or else that fire will burn out? That fire being your metabolism.. Well here is an example of this.. 1200 calories vs 1700 calories.. do you see the difference? Magic happens when you restore your metabolism so you can lose fat. 13.11.2021 6 Fat Loss MYTHS (you should know) 1. Low Carb does not EQUAL faster fat loss. Calories are KING I don’t care if you’re eating high fat, low carb or High Carb and low fat. 2. You don’t need to eliminate dairy, gluten, carbs to lose weight.... 3. There is no secret to intermittent fasting. You’re manipulating calories that’s why you’re losing weight aka eating less 4. Keto is not magic the fact that you’re eating less calories is the magic. 5. 1200 calories is not the secret number to losing weight, a healthy metabolism is and you must take the time to ensure your metabolism is prepared and ready for fat loss 6. You shouldn’t diet forever. You should be stopping your diet at specific intervals. For example: Every 3 weeks and giving yourself a 1-7 day break at maintenance before resuming. . #MoveWithMatt

17.10.2021 Why Eating Less is making you Fatter.. It’s 2022 and everyone’s coming out with their New Year New You promotions which normally involve the big old D word.. Dieting! EAT LESS, TRAIN MORE they say right?... Here’s why this is fucked up.. You’ve been eating 1200 calories on and off for the past 12 months, you’ve been exercising 5x per week and you’re still not losing weight. Do you think another diet will fix you? If you had a flat tyre and I gave you another flat tyre how far would that take you? The reason why you haven’t been able to fit in your skinny jeans is not because of your age or your hormones.. It’s actually because you have kept doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. You’ve been eating less and training more? Am I right? Here’s the facts: You MUST earn the right to lose fat. This is the equivalent of building a solid foundation before building a house. It must be solid in order for your house to last. No diet should last forever. My recommendation is resetting your metabolism every 3-4 weeks when in your weight loss phase (notice I said when you’re in your weight loss phase) meaning you shouldn’t be trying to lose weight 12 months of the year. I recommend this as it will ensure you keep your metabolism healthy. STOP doing starvation diets! Go slow, make small adjustments, have a set time that you’re cutting weight (12-16 weeks) then get the hell out of the diet and have a safe EXIT plan to restore your metabolism again. STOP doing endless Cardio! If you’re eating 1200 calories and not losing weight AND doing 5 days a week of cardio keep reading.. The reason why you have stopped losing weight is because your metabolism has adapted to 1200 calories. This is now your body’s new home Now if you add 5 days of cardio to that and still not losing weight? Your metabolism is a smart bastard and it will eventually adapt to that too. . What’s our advice?
