18.01.2022 IN THE SPOTLIGHT... Meet Jason Coetzee - Competent Apprentice Electrician Describe your perfect Saturday afternoon. The perfect Saturday afternoon for me would have to be a stress free afternoon in the gym training with my girlfriend and ending with a nice family BBQ.... If you were a Star Wars character who would you be and why? I think I would probably wanna be Greedo, mainly because I wanna know what it would be like to be lizard person. How long have you been working at Mpower? Ive been working at Mpower for about 14months. Favourite memory from work? My fav memory is when I was working on an air con fault find using the sniffer (gas leak detector). I asked Matt to sniff the nitrogen bottle to test the leak detector but he looked at me weird and actually sniffed the nitrogen bottle with his nose. What do you enjoy most about working at Mpower? The things I enjoy most about Mpower is how well everyone gets along and everyone is always willing to help each other with anything. Whats your personal motto? When you walk up to opportunities door, dont knock on it kick that door down, smile and introduce yourself What song best describes your work ethic? I made it Kevin Rudolf ft. Rick Ross Where do you see yourself in 20years. I see myself with a wife and 2 kids, owning a gym and building sandcastles on the beach.

I have 2 young boys and a baby at the moment so my perfect Saturday afternoon is having a quite snooze for a couple of hours but ordinarily it would involve spending time at the beach. - If you were a Star Wars character who would you be and why?... Chewbacca - not because Im hairy but because Im ridiculously tall. - How long have you been working at Mpower? Coming up to 2 years. - Favourite memory from work? We were doing a job and there was a tree exactly where we were going to hang some overhead lines so I had to cut the tree down and remove it from site. How often does a electrician get to use a chainsaw at work? It was heaps of fun. - What do you enjoy most about working at Mpower? I really like that we have a great team of people who all have a really good work ethic and are legitimately trying to continually improve what we do and how we do it. - Whats your personal motto? If something is worth doing its worth doing well. - What song best describes your work ethic? I work hard for the money. (i have adapted the title of the song for my own purposes) - Where do you see yourself in 20 years. Hopefully my wife and I will be empty nesters by that time and well have a decent amount of land and be running some cattle. I really enjoy what I do so hopefully Ill still be working as an electrician in some form or another. See more

Beside some form of a body of water, pool, lake, beach with my beautiful girls x3, surrounded by extended family and friends, There is likely a Gin and tonic within arms reach, a bucket of prawns getting around, the smell of steaks on the BBQ and some old school classics on the wireless - eg Highwaymen.... - If you were a Star Wars character who would you be and why? Id be a Mace Windu - coz Im no Yoda - How long have you been working at Mpower? Since its inception in 2008 - coming up 7 years. - Favourite memory from work? Its not one memory but I appreciate the lessons learnt from the business and the way it continually requires you to get better (some days I dont appreciate it but most days I do). - What do you enjoy most about working at Mpower? I love the team and the caliber of the people that make it. We have a fantastic group of people in the company. - Whats your personal motto? Its not originally mine but I love it: "never give in ,- in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in. Except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy" Winston Churchill 1941 - What song best describes your work ethic? We are the champions - Where do you see yourself in 20 years. All going well on a large cattle station. Supported by a healthy Electrical Contracting Business. Spending a lot of time keeping a close eye on the male acquaintances of my daughters - by close eye I mean through a scope.
