24.01.2022 "My speed is my number one strength, and everything else comes from that." Phoenix Spicer can't wait to get started at the top level.

23.01.2022 If you’re within a kilometre from the Club right now you’ll most likely be able to smell the delicious pork currently cooking on the spit! Beef to follow shortly. Tunes under control by Alex Lewinski, the drinks are cold so the only thing missing is YOU! So make sure you drop in at some stage today (any time from 1-5pm) and say gidday! EVERYONE’S WELCOME!

23.01.2022 Hi all, just thought it fitting that we let everyone know that Darren ‘DB’ Ballard, our very own Premiership Player, Life Member, Best and Fairest winner and all round good guy, this week reaches an amazing milestone in his sporting career. Darren will play his 1000th game of Baseball for his beloved Southern District Baseball Club The Hawks at 12:30pm this Saturday at home (cnr. Flaxmill Rd & Peregrine Cres, Christie Downs). Loved at the Hawks just like at the Roo’s he has... had an amazing and distinguished baseball journey having represented his Club, State and Nation with pride. Throughout the 80s and 90s he was one of the most damaging and respected hitters in South Australian Baseball. It is without doubt in his 1000th game his sweet and effortless swing will continue to terrorise the pitcher. In true DB style he will no doubt be celebrating long and hard after the game with wife Mel, their family and friends, so if you you’re around the place at all on Saturday then be sure to drop by and congratulate him on such a great effort! On behalf of the Roo’s, congratulations DB on this enormous achievement you’re a bloody star!

22.01.2022 Gotta love the feel that our large sliding doors give to our new Club, but hard to tell if they’re open or closed after Allan Elbourn from A & S window cleaners have been through to give them a fantastic clean! Great Club people, great Club sponsors! Get onto them today and they’ll look after you!

21.01.2022 Welcome back Matthew Wolfenden. Its great to announce the return to the club of highly rated junior Matthew Wolfenden. Matthew is a talented 16 year old 6’0 defender / wingman who had a decorated junior career at our club playing over 100 games where he regularly finished top 3 in the best and fairest counts. Whist he has spent the last two seasons away from the club, Matthew sees a return to the club as being most beneficial in progressing his development with a desire to... one day being drafted into the AFL. Matthew will be training with Glenelg Football Club over the summer and aspires to secure a regular spot in their U18’s. Should this not happen, he will be welcomed back to our club where he will play at senior level. Matthew has a fantastic attitude and is an excellent cultural fit for our group. Its also great to welcome the Wolfenden family back to the club. Steve Nolis A-Grade Coach

21.01.2022 Congratulations to all the deserving Winners!

19.01.2022 To our players, members and the local community You may have heard that on Friday 13th November a patron that had been exposed to someone with COVID-19 attended a private function at the Morphett Arms. This private function was held in a private room called ‘The Driden Room’. The patron who had been exposed to COVID-19 was at the venue from approximately 5:30pm to 10:30pm. Today he has now returned a positive test. ... SA Health have advised that anyone who attended the Morphett Arms between 5:30 and 10:30pm is considered low risk. Self-quarantining is not essential unless symptoms are present. Should you feel symptoms SA Health advise you to self-isolate and get a test. If you have questions or are seeking more detail on response, please visit- https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//contact+tr/contact+tracing Stay safe!

17.01.2022 To our Roo’s Family Another testing week has come and gone for the senior teams across the board and it was great to chalk up wins in the Women’s & Men’s A-Grades along with the Women’s B’s. The Men’s B’s & C’s are still on the upward curve and to have so many players out in the A & B grades yet still have no problems with numbers to fill the C-Grade team is a fantastic indication of the new depth in the ranks. The juniors had some mixed results but will continue to improve n...Continue reading

13.01.2022 CRICKET CANCELLED FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS Further to our previous COVID update, the Government has just imposed restrictions in SA to help manage the Parafield cluster. This includes temporarily cancelling community sport (both indoor and outdoor sports, contact and non contact). Unfortunately that means all our games - and training - are suspended until further notice. These restrictions will be in place for 2 weeks initially.... We will provide ongoing updates as they happen to keep you all informed, particularly once restrictions are lifted and we can get back to the club to recommence training. Stay safe Roos MPCC Committee

12.01.2022 We’re super-excited to announce that dual Roo’s & Crows Premiership player, Dayna Cox, will be out at tonight’s Auskick session from 5:30pm. So get along to the Club, grab a $10 schnitty for dinner and come see our little Joeys go through their paces.

09.01.2022 Another new signing for the club Bayley Smith. Bayley comes to us via PHOS/Camden junior grades and most recently at SANFL level with Sturt Football Club U18’s. He is an 18 year old 6’4 key position player who is known for his long and accurate kicking and was the leading goalkicker when playing juniors at PHOS/Camden. Bayley is the younger brother of Jesse Smith so its going to be great to see the boys playing together and having long and successful careers at our club. Bayley is a fantastic young man and I look forward to seeing him transition into senior football under our program.

09.01.2022 This week we’re still open tonight, tomorrow night and Friday night with our full menu (and our $10 schnitty specials on Friday night), but the Club will be closed to the public on Saturday night due to a private function. The Specials for tonight and tomorrow night are as per below:

Covid aside, we’ve also been working on a number of important issues that we feel will assist with our future vision for the Club moving forward to ensure a long and successful future of it. These have taken slightly longer than anticipated but we’re now in a position to present these. Therefore the Executive Committee would like to invite all Life Members and Members to our Special General Meeting a...Continue reading
