23.01.2022 Hi Vanners, I had an order for a kitchen from a guy living in the country. I received a message that he wound be in Perth tomorrow and would collect the kitchen. I hadn't even started it so all guns blazing I built it between other jobs. The guys wife wanted Kaboodle doors and I didn't remember that until I had completed it. Niw it turns out the only Bunnings that had them was Cockburn, 30 min away so off I went. The store was as busy as a covid vaccine clinic, parked and half ran down the back wall. Found the gloss white, grabbed 2 doors and a drawer pack and tore back home. I banged them on, stood back for a photo shoot and WHAT THE HELL!!! Hahaha check it out.
21.01.2022 Hi There Vanners. Here is the 3 module kitchen I have finished. I have swapped the 12mm cabinet fronts with 18mm LWP which allows me to use soft close hinges on the doors and although thicker than the MDF the module is lighter for freighting. You can see on the right the bases that I have made for the modules to sit on in the van, also out of LWP. The base is 160mm to allow the kitchen to sit over a wheel arch. I am very pleased with the change in material. I will need to increase my prices as the move to a 15mm and 18mm LWP is twice the price of the 12mm which I will only use for the drawers. Anyway, I will alter those prices and post an updated price list. Cheers Mark
21.01.2022 Hi Vanners and Vanettes, I haven't gone away, just so busy trying to make money since Bali closed down. I have packed a 3 module kitchen to send to NSW. This one is going off built which is around double the kilo rate in freight, $1.80 odd which is still not too bad. Now to weight it, arrange the freight, and off she goes. I hope the 3 layers of bubble wrap is okay or its off to Good Guys to scab some fridge packing. Cheers Mark
15.01.2022 Hi Vanners, Here is a little module that will fit under a sink that is already fixed into the ensuite. Fingers crossed, cheers Mark
06.01.2022 Hi Vanners and Vanettes, I hope you are all well. Cupboard handles and magnets on and away the family goes for their holiday up North with a little extra storage instead of a space. I had little choice with this job but my top of the year is don't build your van kitchen with insert cabinet fronts. That 2mm cap looks and works great until another person or 2 steps into the van and the dynamics change what once was a beautiful gap into an ugly one. Enjoy your weekend, Mark
02.01.2022 Hi Vanners, Here is how I take care of a wheel arch 160mm high or less. If you look you can see where the wheel arch will be. To support the kitchen along the back of the wheel arch I suggest you use a 30x30 length of ali angle glued and screwed to the wall.
