14.01.2022 Interesting 'New Guitar' day - Daion DW-60N - I found this in a relative's cupboard this week, unplayed for the past 20 years at least. The strings were black from age and the high E broke almost immediately. A fresh set of strings helped somewhat but the plastic bridge makes for a very dull tone. I really need to put a bone saddle and nut on it. It is all laminate body with flamed top, though I cannot identify what kind of wood was used for the body top or back and sides. The neck is mahogany and is quite comfortable to play. It does play in tune up the neck and stay in tune, and appears to be reasonably well made. I have heard these were reasonable quality imports from Japan, in this case distributed by Central Musical Instruments Australia. If anyone knows anything about these please respond by posting here.
