25.01.2022 Was asked recently to make some minis for a custom guitar built for Deniz Tek of radio birdman. Guitar sounds amazing.

25.01.2022 a customer dropped in a Ceriatone Prinztone for repair. this amp was purchased used and was supposedly built from a kit by a "highly respected" luthier here in melbourne. Big mistake the client told me it never sounded that good from the day he got it... guys, most luthiers have little or no electronics expertise, they build and fix guitars. amplifiers require sound electronics knowledge and skills. so if your amp is playing up, DO NOT take it a luthier, take it to someone who knows electronics, and preferably knows guitar amps. anyway, after a few hours working on it i got it going and with a new set of tubes, it how roars again these Princeton clones are really nice, especially the ability to switch between blackface and tweed.

19.01.2022 I am speechless, I’ve been wanting to upgrade the pickups in my B.B King Lucille for years and I’ve finally taken the plunge and oh my word... just the sound pr...oduced by these new pickups is mind blowing. Thank you @vanderguitars for suggesting these pickups... words cannot describe the feeling or the sound this guitar produces, this is exactly the sound I wanted for this guitar ever since I got it and just playing this guitar is inspiring. I could go on for hours excuse the audio demos, iPhones aren’t the best to record with. #filtertrons #es335 #bbking #filtertronsforlife #toneheaven #tonecity #geartalk See more

16.01.2022 my good friend john and richard asked me to play on the recording of Richard's songs. i used my homemade strat with my southbounds...... this will give an idea of the capability of these pickups. https://youtu.be/vuOEMrhm28Q

16.01.2022 just released in store.... 63 strat pickups, alnico 5 and scatterwound, they sound awesome whats so special about the 63 pickups?... they were the hottest and beefiest pickups made in the vintage era. actually, the 1958 strat pickups were identical too. if you hate thin sounding bridge pickups and love a throaty sounding neck pickup in your strat... these are for you.... these pickups have scatterwound coils, lightly chamferred hand charged alnico 5 magnets. i make them all to the same wind just like they did in the old days. (but i do make the middle rwrp.) these are amazing sounding, i recently replaced the original pups in my 79 strat.... what a change!!

13.01.2022 the tale of 2 strats: back in 79 i was fortunate enough to be in the USA for Christmas and went on the hunt for a strat,, anyway after playing many many strats, i finally settled on one which sounded great. it is one of those supposedly bad late 70's strats. yes its heavy, and had a neck like a baseball bat, but it plays like a dream and has an extremely good tone. i refretted it a few years ago as the old skinny frets were worn out... so anyway i also have another strat that i built some years ago, it has a honduran mahogany body, and reverse rosewood neck. between the two which would you think had a fuller tone? well not the mahogany one i recently made those new 63 style pickups and installed them in the 79. they sound fantastic in that guitar. so i made another set for the mahogany one. they sounded thin and weak in that guitar. i changed the bridge to a steel block..... but to no avail...it is what it is after a few hours i thought about it and decided to make an alnico 2 set for the guitar... and would you believe the guitar is now fantastic, more mids, but still quite chimey.... it just goes to show that woods have a big influence on the sound of the guitar, and having the correct pickup in the guitar can make all the difference i hope to get clips up soon on youtube demoing the two guitars and the pickups

02.01.2022 Years ago i gigged a HH strat i made and loved it, and really missed it after a client insisted i sell it to him. well i have almost finished this one, it has two supernatural pickups, and 2 volume and master tone. and push push phase switch for the cool greeny tones. a couple of frets are not quite level and i need to add strap locks and back plate..... specs are... mahogany body with high gloss nitro finish rosewood neck locking tuners wilk steel block trem parchment guard if you have never played a strat with PAF style pups, you are missing out big time. the trem and the longer scale make this a different animal than a les paul.... and they rock in a different way, they have more snap and and chime really great fun to play
