23.01.2022 Impact of lockdown has been a massive increase of foot traffic on the Maribyrong River trail resulting in more rubbish being discarded. We are now petitioning the Maribyrnong Council to install more rubbish bins along the Maribyrnong River trail spanning from Heavenly Temple to Footscray Park and from edge of Burndap Park to Pipemakers Park. It would be great if there are more bins available to bin it. Watch this space for updates!

08.01.2022 What a beautiful day today! As I went for a walk along the river, I ran into Terry picking up rubbish at the Edgewater Lake. He and his wife moved from South Australia, they love the neighbourhood and he regularly picks up rubbish in the area. Kudos to Terry!
08.01.2022 We had a burst of sunshine so Christine and I hit the bitumen! Headed across the river to Sims Street and picked up 10 kilos of rubbish - we filled up the garbage bin! Not bad for an hours work.
07.01.2022 did a bit of mini rubbish run with christine and jonathan on sunday, of course, practicing safe distance and picked up 8kg of rubbish - a fair amount of plastic blown over from the construction sites.
06.01.2022 Good response from council re: construction debris - "In relation to your report about the above matter that scattered building rubbish to the area. On 6 October 2020 I met and talked to Nathan Walsh the site manager, requested to control the rubbish in the site and to notify him that more infringements were issued. There have been number of the Infringements being issued to the builder company. I will patrol the area. Please take the photos and report if you observe the rubbish carried out from the construction site." If anyone see such debris, take photos and email to [email protected]
06.01.2022 another sunny day, fired up by yesterdays minuscule work, put in more time today. within 1.2 hour from 1 moreland to tip of tannery reserve, collected 1 bag full of rubbish and cardboard boxes. then stuck to the construction fence off tannery reserve and picked up another bag. today, it was plastic galore - even found a bag of cement mix! lets all do what we can before normality returns. post your photos, we all want to see them!
