07.01.2022 The Home Produce Exchange is a gathering of locals and some not-so-locals, swapping excess home produce and demonstrating seasonal harvests. 04.01.2022 Do you grow your own food? Starting up a veggie garden can improve: - your health, improving your diet by providing fresher food and more veggies (only 14% of people in the Ranges currently eat the recommended amount of veggies)... - the environment through reduced GHG emissions (from food miles and changing eating patterns - namely reducing the over consumption of meat) and soil improvements. It also requires greater attention to the land, learning from it and becoming more connected to the country that surrounds us. - community resilience. Growing your own food leads to new connections - through food swaps, mentoring and knowledge sharing and gifting of excess. It also means less reliance on national distribution channels for food. Of course we don't all have the time or space to grow food. If you do have the inclination and resources, MRSG's Veg Action Macedon Ranges group have a regular post on growing and eating seasonal veggies this season. Here is one of the posts below - you'll find more on MRSG's website.

01.01.2022 November Woodend Farmers' Market is on this Saturday 07.11.20. We welcome covid safe shoppers.
