12.01.2022 I recently found out that the City of Adelaide can provide a smaller green waste bin upon request, which is great since I didn’t want or need the standard size......it's simply too large for my place. It was delivered recently and today I collected the free green waste kitchen caddy and a roll of biodegradable bags from the council's service centre. The bags are provided without cost on an ongoing basis...one just picks them up from a council outlet, which is a great service. I assume all South Australian councils do this (a friend from interstate said they had to pay to receive their green pin)! Sometimes I’m accused of being somewhat lazy...well, I’ll tell you, it has only taken me several years to get this organised! It’s good to finally be green! See more
11.01.2022 On Sunday 27 September 2020, South Australia celebrates the 40th anniversary of the one of world’s greatest motoring events, the Bay to Birdwood. Brought to you... by the History Trust of South Australia, the State Governement, the historic motoring community and a huge base of spectators and admirers, this event is truly unique. For the first time, the event can be viewed via a live stream broadcast, where you can watch the parade of vintage, veteran and classic vehicles as they make their way along the 72km route from West Beach to the National Motor Museum in the Adelaide Hills. Hosted by Keith Conlon, the excitement will be captured via live cameras, dash cams and drone vision. The live stream will include rarely seen footage of the very first Bay to Birdwood in 1980 and pre-recorded interviews with event identities, organisers and a selection of citizen collectors. I look forward to being interviewed by Keith between 10.15am to 10.40am on Sunday morning where I will reflect on my time as a former Chair of the event and also share my thoughts about the future of motoring.
