21.01.2022 I used to feel so exhausted coming home from a long day at work that I would want to run away and hide, just to catch a breath! I would get grouchy at the kids and then feel guilty as they didn’t deserve that. If only I knew then what I know now ‘you can only give what you have’ We are brought up in a society that tells us that we are selfish when we do things for ourselves ... spoiler alert ... THIS COULDN’T BE MORE WRONG! The moment I started to look after me, listened to what I needed and learnt how to fill my own up cup, was the moment I was fully present with my children and life! I felt happy, truly happy for the first time in such a long time. I was no longer grouchy and exhausted as I was taking care of me so I could give the best of me to the most important people in my life, my children. I hear you when you say you don’t have time to do stuff for yourself, however, you can’t afford not to! Reevaluate what’s important and go after that, we can never get time back so don’t waste it!
