18.01.2022 A lovely afternoon was had at Mawson House Cafe today with group of members. Well worth a visit. Our first F2F activity since our Feb General Meeting.

15.01.2022 Thanks to Dan Cregan MP, Mayor Ann Ferguson OAM, Carol Bailey (as private citizen) and Laurence Gellon and any others I may have missed for submitting responses to the SA Electoral Commission to change the boundaries of Kavel to move Mt Barker, Mt Barker Springs and Mt Barker Summit into Hammond. It's a complicated process and you can read all about it here https://edbc.sa.gov.au/. Dan and Ann also presented verbal submissions to the commission with 'compelling arguments' to retain Mt Barker as the central town for Kavel. Sadly Hahndorf has been moved to Heysen. This Association does not get involved in politics and elected not to put in a submission.

14.01.2022 HAVE YOUR SAY PUBLIC CONSULTATION POLICY Council’s Public Consultation Policy (formerly Community Consultation Policy) was first developed in 2004 and is due for review. The changes proposed to the Public Consultation Policy are intended to simplify the policy and provide flexibility and efficiency in meeting deadlines associated with developing, consulting and finalising key strategic management documents including the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), Long Term Fina...ncial Plan (LTFP) and Annual Business Plan. These changes are not being proposed to reduce the opportunity for community feedback but instead reflect updated processes in preparing annual revisions of the SAMP and LTFP with community input sought each time. We encourage you to read the proposed Public Consultation Policy and provide your feedback at https://yoursay.mountbarker.sa.gov.au by 5.00pm, 8 November 2020. 08.01.2022 This afternoon I attended the official opening of the Summit Sport & Rec Park. As a member of the Community Reference Group, this association participated with others to provide our perspective to the initial design of the precinct. To sit on the spectator seat in the main stand and look out over the main oval to the Mount was a vision come true! The sports hub is magnificent!!! Get out there on the Linear Trail and walk around it. Soccer and footy should be played there soo...n. It's a great place for everyone to walk, run, ride around. It's a community park for outdoor sport and recreation. Get out there and use it. Congratulations to the CEO and Council staff, Elected Members past and present, Mayor Anne, Project Team, Sports User Groups and Community Reference Group members. A project brought in under budget and on time too! Further thanks to Rebekha Sharkie MP and Dan Cregan MP for sourcing govt funds. It's just fantastic!!!
