15.01.2022 Summit Streams Venturers, South Coast Venturers and Mt Barker Scouts would like to thank Laura and all the team from Warrawong Sanctuary for an entertaining and educational evening. The Venturers are looking at undertaking the Scout World Environment Badge and decided to visit Warrawong at dusk. The tour start by meeting some locals and how we can help our native animals, reptiles and birds. And after dinner we enjoyed an hour and a half walk around the sanctuary listening to the sounds of our bush and wetlands. Can not recommend it highly enough, a fantastic evening out.

10.01.2022 Great night last night at Scouts we had a visit from Dennis from the Macclesfield RSL Sub-Branch to present badges to the youth. Their Service Our Heritage encourages the scouts to find out more about the service of our Vetrans and to honour them by attending ANZAC and or Remembrance Day Services. Dennis then stayed on to talk about Navigation by the Stars. The youth finished off the night by investing a new member.

12.12.2021 World Scout Jamboree is a worldwide youth camp held every four years with the aim of cultural exchange and building friendships. The 25th World Scout Jamboree will be ...held from 1 to 12 August in 2023 in Saemangeum, Jeollabuk-do Province, Korea! More information can be found at: https://scouts.com.au/event/wsj2023/
27.11.2021 Hello Scouts and Venturers many of you are disappointed you have missed out on your Jamboree/JamX due to COVID. Jamboree enables you to try new activities, learn new skills, be independent and make new friends. But Jamborrees are not the only big Scouting events to let you have this experience. In Venturers they are called Ventures, OzVenture is due in January 2024 and New Zealand Venture called "Ignite 23" is in 12 months time in Mayfield New Zealand. At a Ventures there i...s a lot more freedom of choice in what you do. There is a number of on site activities and also an off site expedition, normally totaling about 12 days long. Venturers choose an expedition, plus a second and third choice. Expeditions are based on an individuals interests and vary in size and could have anywhere from 2 - 12 units. These units are made up of 7 - 10 Venturers (a mix of age, nationality and gender) and one lucky leader there to support the unit and participate in the expedition. After the expeditions are completed, everyone returns to the main Venture Site for Phase Two. Phase Two provides five days of choices for Venturers to decide how to spend their time. It can be as adventurous (or not!) as they like, with as many activities (or time to socialize!) as they wish. The hardest part will be fitting it all in! About Ignite 23: Youth from all over New Zealand, Australia and further afield will come together in January 2023 for ten days of action-packed fun. NZ Venture is the flagship once in a lifetime event for Venturers, with a selection of activities simmering day and night to keep you and your new mates busy. NZ Venture is the perfect blend of freedom and responsibility, action and adventure, and meeting friends for a lifetime. Whether you decide to pursue an existing passion or try something for the very first time, there are options for everyone. To be eligible to attend Venturers Scouts need to be over the age of 14, and an invested member of a Venturer Unit as at the opening day of the Venture. They must not have had their 19th birthday prior to 9th January 2023; More information can be found at: https://www.venture2023.nz/index https://scouts.com.au/blog/2021/10/24/15th-nz-venture-2023/
