24.01.2022 Mt Barker United SC would like to announce that Senior Coach Donato De Ieso and the club have mutually decided to part ways. The decision was taken after much consideration and it was felt this was the best outcome for both Donato and the club. Technical Director Enrico Iasiello will shift into the role of Senior Coach for the interim whilst the club sets up a working group to search for a new coach.... We wish Donato all the best, and thank him for his tireless efforts with the State League group. It has been a challenging two-year period as we find our feet in the upper levels of the sport in the state. With recent announcements regarding the Summit Sports & Recreation Park in Mt Barker, the club now has a stable foundation to build for the future and Donato’s part in that journey will not be forgotten.

23.01.2022 It’s with immense pride the Mt Barker United Soccer Club would like to recognise the achievement of JPL player Savannah Daniels on making the FootballSA Under15 Girls State Development Team. . We wish her well as she moves into the @footballsouthau pathway program full-time which takes her one step closer to realising her dream of playing for the Matildas. . Sav joined Mt Barker United five years ago after playing school soccer in year 3, she took up the challenge of playin...g in our JPL program three years ago after starting in the AHJSA. . She represented Regional SA, going to Singapore last year and was part of the FootballSA Under 14 ‘part-time’ State squad this year, which meant she could continue to play in the Mt Barker United JPL program this season. . As JPL club Mt Barker United is able to nominate players to trial for the State Squads, which our Women’s & Girls Coordinator, Stacey Beddow had no hesitation in doing for Sav this year and after 4 stages of trials throughout the year she has made the cut. . We just want to thank everyone at the club for supporting Savannah for the past 5 years with Mount Barker (she even wore her blue kit to every stage of the trials to represent Mount Barker United Soccer Club) Karen (Sav’s proud mum) . The club also recognises, a large part of Savannah’s success has been down to her putting in the work. The club endeavours to provide the best environment, support and opportunity to play at the highest levels for our players, which we’re continually improving year on year, but in the end it’s up to the individuals to chase their dreams and work hard. We’re so chuffed it’s paid off for Sav. . On behalf of the Mt Barker United Soccer Club family we’d like to wish Sav, her chauffer’s Karen and Mike, all the best on this next stage of Savannah’s soccer journey. . See more

16.01.2022 As T.S. Elliot remarked Home is where one starts from and what a place to build our club from at the Summit Sports and Recreation Park. This weekend we get another chance to showcase what we’re about with teams competing in the upper levels of competition in the state, right down to our little u8s in the local AHJFA, male and female players will all pull on the MBUSC shirt and do battle at our new home. . The Football South Australia State League boys take on Pontian Eagles... on Saturday afternoon. With the first team playing some good football in patches, it should be a fast paced and entertaining encounter. Also the u18s will look to maintain their strong form resulting in a win and a draw over the last couple of weeks. . Our four Community Men’s teams are in action at home on Saturday afternoon too, with the As and Bs taking on UniSA along with the Div 5&6s welcoming Unley and Plympton. The As will be looking to bounce back after a loss last round staying in the promotion battle. . Kicking off the program on Saturday at home will be 5 of our AHJFA squads, with the other 7 on the road to various locations in the hills. Go well and have fun . On Sunday it’s the Academy (JPL) Squads turn at Summit, starting with the u11 MiniRoos, then the u16 & u13 squads take on their opposition. Unfortunately the u14s drew the short straw this week with a road trip to Gawler for an 8.30am kick off . Both Community Womens teams are home too on Sunday, after a great win in the Cup last week against Adelaide Uni Div 4, the Div 6 women will be fired up to continue their strong form. . 15.01.2022 The fog is definitely clearing and the is beaming, but before we get too carried away we have this weeks games to take care of . . Firstly, congratulations to Will Bushell (pictured) who made his first XI debut last week for the club. Will joined us from Adelaide Uni in the off season. It was a baptism of fire for Will playing NPL side Comets in the Cup, but his performance in goal was very strong and sees him lining up again for the First XI as we take on Noarlunga a...way in round 3 of the State League season. Also a shout out to Alex Twartz who got his first run in the First Team coming off the bench and looking comfortable at the level. Great opportunity for two of our u18 squad. . Three of our Community Men’s teams are popping over to Bellevue’s Heights to take on Sturt Lions, whilst the Div 5 squad wander off to Rostrevor for their game. With the recent positive results including a Cup win for the A’s the boys will be looking to keep up the momentum. . . The Academy (JPL) squads are off to all points of the compass from Taperoo to Modbury but the most interesting game will be the u13s as they take on the Hawks. It’s been a tough start for this predominantly new group, they’re certainly on a steep learning curve, but they’re improving each week and I’m sure will never give in against their more fancied opponents. Play hard, learn and you will prosper . Our Div 5 Women kick off the weekend for the the club tonight as they travel out to Elizabeth Downs for rare Friday night fixture. Then it’s back to St Francis de Sales College for the Div 6 Women on Sunday. Both squads have started the season well let’s hope they can keep it up. . . Finally, our Community Juniors are in action in the AHJFA, where there are a host of games back-to-back at Anembo Park, the future is on display pop down and check them out . . Phew that’s a big program, but it gets better next weekend as almost all MBUSC teams head home for a big weekend of Mt Barker Football . One Football Family. Individual plaudits aside, our senior women’s team, ably coached by Callan Marshall-Hart, should all be proud of their efforts this year, finishing 4th in a tough league. Along with the introduction of a girls team into our Junior Premier League in 2020 we’re on the right track to build for next year so that we can continue to work towards completing the pathway for females to play football in the Adelaide Hills, from young girls to one day represent the Westfield Matildas!

03.01.2022 It was an honour to be invited to and attend the opening ceremony for the Summit Sports and Recreation Park yesterday. It’s fair to say the facility has the best views in South Australia! In attendance: Rebekha Sharkie MP Minister Corey Wingard MP... Dan Cregan - Member for Kavel Senator Andrew McLachlan CSC Mayor Ann Ferguson Football South Australia We remember many moons ago there was talk of the ground being converted into a sporting precinct. The idea was dreamed by the Mount Barker Football Club but has grown to encompass other sports as well. We are very grateful for their foresight. With two synthetic soccer pitches and clubrooms (Stage 1) the facility will bring Mount Barker up to the elite standards which in turn will allow boys and girls, men and women the opportunities to not only enjoy soccer bit to also flourish. As senator McLachlan stated, there’s no reason why the next Matilda or Socceroo couldn’t come from the Mt Barker district! We would like to thank the hard work of the Mount Barker District Council and Football South Australia for everything that have done to bring this facility online. GAME ON!
