24.01.2022 Not long now until we find out what our new restrictions will be. I will be posting here any updates for all the classes as soon as the new information comes through. I hope everyone has been keeping safe, well...hang in there In the meantime here is a little vid of the turning process- Turning a piece is done at the 'leatherhard' stage to trim off excess clay mostly from around the base area.. it gives the piece shape & lift. The trimmings can be softened down with water to be reused again & again. Occassionally I get carried away and trim right through the base! 22.01.2022 Thankyou Mornington Peninsula Arts & Culture for sharing some of my artwork, you do an great job daily of show-casing artists from our Peninsula, so many wonderful works of art to see & events to follow on instagram also

15.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! A little excited, we've finally been given the green light Start date is 23rd November. I will contact all students who are booked in the meantime. ... Though we cannot fit the full term in before christmas, we can at least make a start, after this, unused classes will automatically roll over to term 1 2021 and everyone's places in the classes will be secure. There will also be the option to do an extra 3 classes towards the end of the term. Below is the booking link though classes are almost all full. Dates for all the other classes will be created & announced soon! If you miss out on a place, it will be a good idea to keep checking in on the booking link to see if any places have been cancelled and become available again. The studio will be running with a Covid safe plan in place for everyone's best interest. See you all soon - https://mtelizapotterystudio.weteachme.com//1033750-adults

09.01.2022 These amazing pieces of work were the last lot glazed by the students in term 1 earlier this year just before going into lockdown....as always, well done everyone!! We have now had our very first week back since 'way back' when . It was so good seeing all the familiar faces again this week, and also lovely to meet some friendly new ones, welcome all!

04.01.2022 Hello to all Thought I'd check in as I've had many enquiries for classes & to when they're starting up. With the latest roadmap announced, classes still can't be running, but I'm sure we're not far off! Still waiting with anticipation & so keen to begin. It would be good to get at least a couple of weeks of classes in before the end of the term! I've been enjoying the newly renovated studio space all on my own and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you as we all need... that 'Food for the Soul', working with clay certainly does that When we do start back, we'll be following a Covid safeplan for the running of the studio, details will be communicated to all students beforehand. I've been scheduling a few firings over the break, so for those who have been able to create pieces at home, feel free to organise a contactless drop off & pick up for bisque or glaze firings. This service is open to anybody by the way, not just students. At this stage all the adults term classes may be fully booked , however this can change! The booking link will go live again very soon for any unfilled spots to be snapped up. As they say, 'watch this space' for when this will happen. If you miss out, it will be a good idea to regularly keep an eye out on the booking link to see if anyone has cancelled in the meantime. For the Saturday Morning Casual classes, School Holiday Workshops & the After School Short Course for Childern, these dates need to be confirmed asap when we commence. For those interested in what I've been up to in Iso, here are a handful of my (blurry) Instagram creations @mtelizapotterystudio See you all very soon See more

03.01.2022 The next stage of the coil pot shown in my video has been completed, it's been slowly drying out & now ready for bisque firing
