15.01.2022 UPDATE | Earlier reports of record flood levels have been retracted by The Bureau of Meteorology, saying earlier messages that Coomera River at Oxenford Weir ha...d reached a new flood level record above 2.5m were incorrect due to inconsistent data being recorded at the station. The current level is 3.02m and not 8.6m as initially reported. ** BREAKING | Record major flood levels are rising along the Coomera River at Oxenford Weir. The Bureau of Meteorology says heavy rainfall is expected to continue for the next few hours with higher levels possible. At 11:30 Thursday, the Coomera River at Oxenford Weir was 8.2 metres and continuing to rise. This is about 2.5 metres above its previous record of 5.75m recorded in Feb 2019. Further river level rises are expected during Thursday as heavy rainfall continues. The situation will be closely monitored and further updates will be provided as required.
