16.01.2022 Road alert: No change, unfortunately. The Great Alpine Road remains closed between Harrietville and Hotham village due to heavy snow, poor visibility and strong... winds. We apologise for any inconvenience. Please note the Omeo approach is still open, and if you are heading up from Melbourne this afternoon you might want to consider that route. Next update will be at 1:30pm this afternoon (Friday 9 August). 16.01.2022 UPDATE: The Great Alpine Road between Harrietville and Hotham Village is currently closed due to the recent heavy snowfalls causing the danger of trees falling.... We know this is frustrating, but traveller safety is everyone's prioirity. The Omeo approach is open, and the service station has diesel available. Next update will be at 11:30am. 03.01.2022 *GREAT NEWS SNOW FANS* - Harrietville appoach OPEN!! The Great Alpine Road is OPEN at 7am from the Harrietville approach fitting chains to all vehicles. There's another 10cm of fresh snow with the storm total near 75cm! Enjoy the weekend powderhounds!! :)
