08.01.2022 At the end of Term 2, Year 8 student Kasey Pitcher cut off 33cm of her long hair and generously donated it to an organisation that makes wigs for children who are experiencing hair loss resulting from medical conditions like alopecia or cancer. This is the second time Kasey has cut off her long hair to donate to those in need. Her plan is to regrow her hair to cut and donate it every 18 months. When asked what inspired her to do this, Kasey said she recalled her grandmother needing a wig due to a medical illness that resulted in hair loss. So in Year 6, she decided to cut her hair and donate it to help people like her grandma. She said it is an easy way to help other people have things they need that we often take for granted. Kasey hopes that by sharing her story, it might inspire you to do the same. Well done Kasey.
