18.01.2022 Typical thermal spray applications include: Shaft and journal reclamation, wear protection, corrosion protection, surface reconfirmation and anti-fouling. These couplers were thermal sprayed with a chromium alloy to 60Rc then final ground to size on sealing journals.

17.01.2022 Customers often think that parts are beyond repair. This customer was out of action due to this severely damaged bearing bore. MTS engineered a repair and had them up and running the next day. Contact us for more information

17.01.2022 This component from a rock crusher had severely damaged keyways and seal diameters. MTS managed to successfully repair the damaged sections. Our solution saved the customer excessive downtime penalties and the repair was a fraction of the cost of a new part.

16.01.2022 More valve work showing up 660kg of thermal spray and machining work!

12.01.2022 MTS has cylindrical grinding capabilities (internal and external). Check out this video of internal cylindrical grinding on an extremely hard piece of material! Approximately Rc64 8 depth of bore, wrapped in rubber to minimise vibration during machining!

11.01.2022 Another busy differential and gearbox week for MTS! Batches of heavy haulage components repaired by thermal spray, welding and precision machining contact us today for a capability and price list!

10.01.2022 These coupling housing were manufactured and fully welded by the engineers at MTS. please contact us for any manufacturing or welding requirements

10.01.2022 Another interesting job for MTS - we were recently commissioned to design and fabricate a four drill drilling head capable of drilling hundreds of thousands of holes in tough material. This drill head was drawn and entirely manufactured in-house!

10.01.2022 This broken casting would normally be cause for rejection, therefore scrapping the part. MTS provided a cost effective solution to the problem.

10.01.2022 Damaged crankshaft welded, thermal sprayed and machined back to manufacturers specs!

08.01.2022 At MTS we have recently increased our capabilities with the addition of an Arc Spray unit. This gives us an even bigger range of materials that can be applied by thermal spray! In particular, we are now better positioned for cost effective corrosion protective applications - very good for marine environments!

07.01.2022 MTS also offers spray/fuse for hard coatings and special applications! Contact us for more information!

05.01.2022 Rebuild of a heavy duty 90 degree milling head! Spindles rebuilt, all seals and hydraulics refurbished and replaced and completed with TIR and clearance checks. The unit operates around 3000-4000 rpm heavy milling over multiple shifts!

05.01.2022 Playing with a little portable EDM this week removing a broken tap

03.01.2022 More and more marine jobs coming in each week. Before and afters for corrosion protection on a job for tuna long liner (arc spray applied Aluminium/Zinc coating).

02.01.2022 Something a bit out of ordinary for MTS this week. We were asked to replicate some cups for horse jump wings (as shown in photo) We completed 30 of these cups this week fabricated from mild steel and TIG welded all in house.

02.01.2022 Restoration of large earthmoving drive-train and brake components worn and pitted diameters and surfaces sleeved or built up and re-machined. Contact us today to find out more!

01.01.2022 MTS aims to repair your components at a fraction of the cost of a replacement part. This tow motor component had a damaged bearing diameter it required pre-machine, welding, thermal spraying and final machining! Job successful - saved the customer a long wait and lots of $$$.

01.01.2022 Our Thermal Spray capabilities include speciality coatings for marine applications. The seal diameters were restored on these marine components, using Titanium Oxide ceramic and a final grind to size.
