25.01.2022 Starting and finishing at Fern Tree Park, the moderate 2 hour circuit to O’Gradys Falls is perfect for winter bushwalking. It's a short walk through open bushland to the waterfall. Lush green ferns and mosses surround O’Gradys Falls where the cold clear water flows into Hobart Rivulet, under the city and then out into the River Derwent. There’s plenty of birds and good views of the Organ Pipes too. It’s an ideal walk for winter with lower elevation and a sunny aspect. What’s your favourite winter walk on kunanyi/Mt Wellington?

20.01.2022 kunanyi/Mt Wellington is home to at least 67 bird species it’s a bird-watcher’s delight! This stunning Pink Robin was spotted at The Springs. Pink Robins (Petroica rodinogaster) are a calling bird, endemic to south-eastern Australia. Did you know that the males and females have different plumage? Only the males display a pink breast and belly. During the breeding season (September to March) they are found in damp, dense shrub layers of cool temperate forests and in winter they retreat to open and drier habitats. https://www.instagram.com/sandie_faulkner/

17.01.2022 The clear turquoise waters of the Disappearing Tarn have returned to kunanyi/Mt Wellington! Only keen walkers know where to find this natural phenomenon. At most times of the year the tarn is void of water, only appearing after heavy rainfall on the mountain. https://www.instagram.com/camblakephotography/
