25.01.2022 The Workers at CPPC have voted No a second time to CPPC's dodgy Non-Union agreements.

25.01.2022 The Members at Cape Preston Port Company stuck tight throughout EA negotiations for over 18 months, voting down two non-union agreements in the process. This outcome solidifies that a united workforce will always prevail.

19.01.2022 It is an utter disgrace the lengths some companies go to, to ensure workers have no job security and below industry standard wages and conditions. the MUA call on all Labour Hire employees to stand up and fight back against these greedy corporations. if you don't stand up for fair wages and conditions then you are contributing to the race to the bottom!

17.01.2022 Partnerships: a scathing look at life as a worker with no voice or entitlements. A loss of everything that’s been fought and won by the Union movement to become the Uber drivers of towage. the cult of partnerships is on the rise with workers believing they are an integral part of the company and have ownership of the operation. this is absolute rubbish! the stories continue, ... -Partners getting together and voting out other partners they don't like (no unfair dismissal) then they agree to bring in a new partner at a lower rate of pay and take a cut of the rest. -Partners working over cycle and overtime and not getting paid for several months. -Taking on a hoard of administrative duties for no extra pay -Take a sick day and they need to pay someone to replace them for that shift. -Hurt yourself on the job (no Workers comp) you need your own insurance -Rushing partners through sea time to get them trained up quickly (all at the cost of safety) -Pay increases linked to KPI's (so safety will not be reported properly, if at all.) -The tax dodge of putting some of your income through spousal distribution. -Changes made to Partnership contracts (no consultation, no ability to dispute) with a take it or leave it approach! -if the company, the partners contract to, lose the contract with a resource company the partnership automatically folds. (no redundancy)
