24.01.2022 I was very pleased to see sweet little Peggy Sue come in today. I was wondering where she’d been because her Mum rescued her from puppy farm and I hadn’t seen either of them for ages. She had been coming to Mudgee Dog Stylist many years prior with her previous dog. Sadly I found out from her new Mum that her Mum, Di had passed away . Nevertheless Peggy Sue is doing well and is happy and has put on weight which was good to see, I know Di would be pleased.

I still get a lot of poodles and Mini schnauzers and Cavs, Cocker spaniel and some pure Shihtzu or Maltese but apart from that.. Not that I dont like oodles I do but its nice to have purebreds , Im trained to do all the haircuts!!

15.01.2022 Im getting some great new clients since a certain salon shut down. However Im also getting a lot of no shows often for baths which is something I dont do a lot of. If you cant make an appointment at least cancel , a simple text or phone call or message. Its common courtesy. Its blatantly rude to just not show up or bother and I really dont want these types of clients.

11.01.2022 Im not identifying this dog but Im just using this example to educate people. This is what can commonly occur if your dogs ears get severely matted. The blocked circulation being restored by clipping off the matted coat can cause hematoma which is essentially a blood blister under the skin that fills up at the tip of the ear. This is why severely matted ears need to be clipped and carefully. Theres not a lot a groomer can do about it besides wrapping the ears if the dog is shaking their head a lot. Of course Ill certainly be recommending the client seek veterinary advice and attention if this doesnt settle down. This is very much a health and safety issue and why you shouldnt let your dogs ears get very matted.

09.01.2022 Hello lovely peeps and your fur kids! Mudgee Dog Stylist has been quite busy lately since two other groomers closed in the area. Some new clients have been no shows and this is very unfortunate as I lose money and clients miss out on earlier appointments. Effective from this Monday 10th August I will be keeping a list of any and all no shows and there will be a $20 non-cancellation fee should you wish to return to Mudgee Dog Stylist. I will always be a bit lenient with longer term or good regulars who are generally reliable who might have a valid reason or it was just a mix up. There will be little leniency for new clients . 05.01.2022 Edit: I AM NOT REFERRING TO ANY SPECIFIC CLIENTS!! Its a culmination of many clients having unrealistic expectations and not practicing coat care in between grooming visits!! I am simply addressing this topic because it is becoming AN ISSUE; Original post: Frankly, Im going to start to get very choosy about what large oodles I take on. They take me longer and I make less money and they are alot of work. Somehow some people decide to buy the biggest hairiest dog they can fi...nd but give no concern for the ongoing grooming required. I dont have a magic wand. Im not sitting here having tea and scones. There are some large oodle owners who wont be welcome back. I go to alot of trouble to leave some coat on when clients are completely unrealistic. Go elsewhere and theyll shave it and charge you even more and it will no longer be my problem.. Enjoy .. This does not refer to my responsible large doodle owners who have some degree of common sense. See more
