19.01.2022 Rhodes Brothers - Contribution To Local Junior Cricket This trophy is awarded to any person involved with Mudgee Junior Cricket, either as a player, coach administrator or volunteer. It goes to someone who has contributed to the development of local junior cricket and also has demonstrated a high level of dedication to the local junior cricket community. This recipient has been involved with MDJCA for about 9 years now and has contributed a lot to the development of crick...et in our little association. This person could be called ‘Mr Reliable’, you could always count on him to get the job done ! Things you may not remember need attending to - no dramas , behind the scenes they are being taken care of . Not having a very rich cricketing background, he's always looked to challenge himself within training and games to further develop his cricketing knowledge and love for the game allowing him to contribute in any way possible. It's our great pleasure to award the 2020/21 Rhodes Brothers Trophy to Nick Cavanagh. Pete Sibs Photography

19.01.2022 President's Award The Presidents Award is awarded at the discretion of the President , to a club member (player, coach or volunteer) who has demonstrated commitment and/or service to the club that goes above and beyond the call of duty. This recipient has been involved with junior and senior cricket in Mudgee for nearly 2 decades, taking up various roles wherever he was needed. ... Currently the main curator of cricket in Mudgee, this person has gone above and beyond with his dedication to the development of cricket in our small association. Seen most afternoons out in the middle of Vic Park or Cahill Park rolling, mowing, watering the pitch . Then making sure there are ‘pitches ‘ mown and marked out ready for our younger players on Saturday mornings . Even without any children playing in the area, he still plays a big role in the running of MDJCA and always manages to find new ways to give back to the club. The President's Award for 2020/21 goes to Terry Ford.

13.01.2022 The Whale Family Spirit Of Cricket Award A newly introduced award this season is the 'Whale Family Spirit Of Cricket Award'. This award has been kindly donated by the Whale family to leave their legacy behind for Mudgee junior cricket and in playing the great game in the right spirits and promoting better sportsmanship for the sport. ... Cricket owes much of its appeal and enjoyment to the fact that it should be played not only according to the laws, but also within the spirit of the game. Respect is central to the Spirit of Cricket and is something we don't take for granted at MDJCA, especially towards your captain, team-mates, opponents and the authority of the umpires. Play hard and play fair, accepting the umpire's decisions, creating a positive atmosphere by your own conduct, and encouraging others to do likewise. Showing self-discipline on and off the field, even when things don't go your way. Cricket is an exciting game that encourages leadership, friendship and teamwork, which brings together people, especially when played within the Spirit of Cricket. This recipient had just completed his 8th season with MDJCA, hailing from the little town of Gulgong. Starting down at Vic Park in the U'10s to become the player and person he is today. He's been playing representative cricket since his debut for the U'12s back in 2015/16, co-captaining the team for 3 seasons as well as playing for the Mitchell U'12s, 14s & 16s rep sides throughout his many years with our association. Developing all areas of his cricketing game and becoming a great leader on and off the field. Dedicated and committed to training and game days, always encouraging his team-mates to do their best, but most important playing the game in the right spirit, well taught by his father who always encouraged good sportsmanship from a young age. The Inaugural 'Whale Family Spirit of Cricket Award' for 2020/21 goes to Oliver Hollow. Pete Sibs Photography
