21.01.2022 Today some of our very helpful preschool children ventured down to the garden with John and Christina to learn about what we’ve been growing over the last few months. John spoke about what each vegetable was and asked the children what they’d like to have planted the next time round. Christina then used the vegetables to make a very sneaky pizza sauce, looking like it’s just tomato paste but instead being filled with a variety of vegetables.

16.01.2022 Today the vacation care children had a go at our brand new VR/AR (virtual reality/augmented reality) and Robotic equipment. We split into groups, one group doing the robotic programming and the other doing the VR/AR activities. The VR was a smash hit, some children took turns selecting different objects to explore and interact with on the big screen using the camera and the merge cube, while the other children used a cube to play a mine craft type game. ... The robotics were also extremely popular, the educator assisting set up a task for the children to work together to complete, having to get from the parking lot on the board to the library square without running out of tiles. A lot of critical thinking was thrown around and in the end both groups absolutely smashed the challenge and were extremely proud of themselves.

07.01.2022 At Mudgee Little Learners we are very excited to announce that we are starting a robotics program that will teach our children how to code, problem solve and work together as a team. The Kubo robotic programming kit uses puzzle like pieces to determine a path for the robot. With this we will be able to set up various tasks for the children to work together and complete the puzzle, using the coding system. We are also excited to announce that we have also purchased a series of... AR and VR items. With this technology we will be able to scan tables and surfaces using the VR headset and set them up so the children will be able to, for example see different ecosystems, such as one table can be a forest and another table can be an ocean, and with the AR cubes we can place them inside the systems, they’ll scan in as animals and plants and the children can interact and explore the different flora and fauna by picking up the cubes and examining them. We can also place things inside the room such as a full human body that the children are able to walk around and interact with, to learn about the various parts of the human body and internal system. This tech isn’t limited to just that, the merge program features thousands of different learning programs so no matter what the interest, we can cater to it and with the learning being far more hands on, the children will be more engaged and excited than ever before.
