11.01.2022 The performing arts is among the industries that will be hit the hardest over the coming months. Arts companies, individual artists and the businesses and individuals that support them will undoubtedly face some tough times. If you’re an artist or arts company affected by event cancellations, loss of gigs, etc, register your information here. This will help to quantify the loss in our sector and also highlight the enormous value of the arts to the national economy. https://ilostmygig.net.au/

07.01.2022 Mudlark Theatre wishes to advise patrons that our production of Caravan Boat Treehouse by Stephanie Briarwood scheduled for this week has been postponed. After careful consultation with a number of stakeholders it is the opinion of Mudlark, the Tasmanian Theatre Company and Theatre North, that our current season dates need to be cancelled. The safety of our patrons, and the wider community, has been paramount in our decision making. We feel at this time of uncertainty around... best practice in the control of COVID-19, that the implications of being responsibly cautious far outweigh the potential risks of not acting so. Mudlark will be working to remount the show later in the year in Launceston and on the North West, at this stage in September (medical advice permitting). So here’s what you can do. - You can chose to have your ticket transferred to our September production - You can chose to receive a refund - Or you have the option to donate the ticket price to help ensure the continuation of our company. We are working closely with Theatre North, and ask that you hold off getting in touch with their box office for the moment, while we work through details. More information will follow next week. Jack, a character in Caravan Boat Treehouse reminds us that ‘This moment is just a moment’. This will pass, and on the other side we at Mudlark hope that we can gather together again and tell some more stories about the ‘profound privilege it is to be Human Beings.’ Stay safe, and be kind.
