The Dinner Plain Festival Of Light will launch from December 23, 2020 to January 2, 2021, providing a destination attraction and tourism drawcard for Dinner Plain Alpine Village this summer. ... Highlighting the historic snowgums and distinctive architecture of Dinner Plain, the expansive area between DP Hut and Crisps Hut will be transformed each evening into an interactive lighting extravaganza. Spectacular lighting effects and structures will operate each evening for 10 nights over the Christmas and New Year's Eve period. Planned to encourage COVID-Safe tourism, the Festival Of Light entices visitors to experience the unique attraction in a socially-distanced self-exploration of the village after dark. New Years Eve Event Changes In previous years Dinner Plain has hosted a number of outdoor events on New Years Eve, notably the roundabout DJ party and Fireworks display. In conjunction these have historically attracted gatherings in excess of 300 people. 2020 has seen a number of challenges in regards to public safety from bushfires and the still-present risk of COVID-19 in Australia. With these challenges in mind, the existing NYE event schedule has been considered strongly in its appropriateness to the current climate of summer bushfire risk and regulations restricting mass gatherings within Victoria. 2020 Event Schedule Dinner Plain's return of tourism and events commences this December with a number of Entertainment and Mountain Biking events, followed by the Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations December 5 - Centuras playing DP Hotel (Live Music) December 12 - Junior MTB Series Race 2 (MTB) December 19 - Dinner Plain 3HR XC Enduro (MTB) December 23 to Jan 2 - Dinner Plain Festival Of Light December 28 - "The Hub" opening (Dining) December 31 - Hotel High Plains NYE party feat DJ Eddy & Steve Lucas December 31 - DP Hotel NYE Party feat DJ & Live Entertainment Further announcements to come about summer events, including a major event to be hosted by Dinner Plain in January 2021. 01.01.2022 BOOKINGS FOR THE GREEN SEASON As per Dan's announcement, we are now able to open up Mullocky Creek fully as the new rules allow for up to 15 people in a house in any given day. Usual rates & rules for green season apply. One exception is if you feel concerned about sharing the lodge with others, so we have decided to allow bookings (outside of peak periods e.g. Christmas / New Year, long weekends and Easter) whereby members can book the entire lodge for $100 per night plus a ...cleaning fee of $80 per stay. If you have an existing booking for the green season, if you want this to apply, add bookings for the remaining beds. So get up there and enjoy the wonderful high plains this summer.

01.01.2022 Dinner Plain has a new cafe that opened today. The Hub is a gorgeous space (in the old Cilantro building) and will include some nice outdoor seating.
