21.01.2022 This Wednesday the 28th of April Wagga Wagga City Council will be hosting Free Child Car Seat Safety Checks where community members can have car seats, harnesses and booster seats checked for safety and fit. With 2 out of 3 car seats are not being used properly you can make sure children are safe with a free inspection by an Authorised Restraint Fitter. The Free inspections will be taking place between 9am 12pm at Wagga Beach Cabarita Park on Johnson Street.... The International Day of Living Together in Peace aims to uphold the desire to live and act t...ogether, united in differences and diversity, in order to build a sustainable world of peace, solidarity and harmony. An integral component of this is united in differences and diversity, aligning with multicultural and interfaith values. It will consist of addresses by members of a small panel, followed by a Q & A discussion with the audience. The panellists will be drawn from a rage of organisations, it is a free event, to make it accessible to all. With that in mind it will also be videoed and live streamed. Featuring a rotating roster of lead vocalists the Rvzi band will present a lively concert of pop, rock and country songs that every music lover will enjoy. The Burmese community in Wagga Wagga has been growing for over 10 years and the Rvzi Band would like to invite the wider community to come together and enjoy this evening as they share some of their favourite tunes. The word Rvzi means Mountain in Rvwang language and has been chosen to represent the mountainous countryside of the band member’s homeland in Kachin State in Northern Burma. The band members will be donating their performance fee to support family and friends who currently in Malaysia awaiting for their Humanitarian Visa Applications to be processed and who have been adversely affected by Corona Virus through the loss of employment.

05.01.2022 On Thursday the 21st of January between 5pm 7pm Multicultural Council of Wagga Wagga in Partnership with Wagga Futsal and Football New South Wales (FNSW) will be hosting a Futsal come and try session for young people aged 12-25. The event will be held at the Equex Centre (124 Copland St, East Wagga Wagga NSW 2650) The event is limited to 50 participants and all participants must complete a registration form which is available at the Multicultural Council of Wagga Wagga Office.

The evening will feature comedy presented by Dane Simpson, performance poetry featuring Jackie Atim Okot with musician Damian Evans with the evening being rounded off by musician Khairi Darweesh performing traditional Yazidi songs and original material on the tambour in his first language Kurmanji.
