22.01.2022 Each week Multicultural Kids Playgroup will be learning about a different Polynesian/Pasifika island country through song, dance and play. The Island country for today was Samoa. We enjoyed learning the Alphabet, counting to 10 and learning each human body part all in the Samoan Language Malo Lava Tamaiti le taumafai/ Well done Children ... 20.01.2022 And to mark the end as well as to celebrate Tokelau language week we decorated fishes with glitter, cellophane and flowers from leis (flower necklaces) some of the children coloured in their fishes too The Tokelau word for fish is IKA We tried to learn a song but the kids wanted to play as long as they're having fun I say ... 11.01.2022 Today was great fun learning Te Reo Maori. Special thanks to one of the fantastic mums, Sarah who printed out some cool colour in sheets for the kids. We used our ingenuity and created our own rakau and played with them to the song- E papa waiari Ka mau te wehi. Next week, we'll be celebrating the Tokelau language and learning about the Tokelau culture There are a few spots left to fill, pm for more information ...
