25.01.2022 A few weeks ago, MCNT announced a proposal to amend their constitution which will have the effect of removing youth representation from the board. Since then, we have been working to make sure that the community is aware of the effect of this proposed change and why we need to ensure the preservation of youth representation in the peak multicultural Territory body. Unfortunately, we have found MCNTs response to the concerns raised about this proposal to be disappointing. We ...thank all those who have reached out to us and those who have shown their support. Please know that whatever the outcome may be at the AGM tomorrow, MyNT will continue doing what it does best - empowering young people to become active and engaged members of the community.

23.01.2022 Thank you to all who dropped by and said hello to our stall at Darwin High School Expo on Friday. We asked students to place a sticker on a map showing their cultural background, which just goes to show how culturally diverse Darwin is! It was also a pleasure hearing young peoples opinions on how we can make Darwin a better place #mynt #dhsexpo #dhs

13.01.2022 This week two of our wonderful Student Ambassador Alumni KN John Yusuf and Jane Clement shared their amazing life stories and inspired a new group of young refu...gees at the Melaleuca Refugee Centre. John and Jane both arrived in Australia as refugees from Burma and Uganda when they were teenagers and now John has completed his Bachelor of Business and Jane is currently studying her postgraduate course in Nursing at Charles Darwin University. 11.01.2022 "We have before us an unprecedented opportunity to realise the untapped potential of the largest, most diverse, and most educated generation in history....We invite you to include us in the conversations that are shaping our lives, embrace our ideas and our solutions." We couldn't have said it better. We had the opportunity to meet Kareem El-Ansary during his national consultation tour earlier this year. As young people living in the Territory, it is not always easy for us to speak out our opinions or have our voices heard. Initiatives like the national consultation tour which provides young people the opportunity to share their views and be represented in the international stage are something we continue to strive for.

11.01.2022 MyNT was fortunate enough to have met and consulted with the Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations, Kareem. He'll be sharing some of the things he's learned on his Listening Tour on The Project tomorrow night (Channel 10, 6:30pm).

10.01.2022 Too often, our Governments talk about or at young people, rather than listening to their voices. Want to know how to improve the lives of our young Territorians...? Just ask them. That is what we did today. The 2020 NT Youth Round Table took place this weekend, with this year's round table members coming together to pitch ideas on how to make their communities a better place for young people like themselves. This fantastic program gives young Territorians from all over the NT the opportunity to speak directly to decision-makers and the Northern Territory Government about their ideas, and how to progress them. All of the projects pitched today were outstanding, and I look forward to seeing them implemented. Congratulations to all of these extraordinary young leaders.

05.01.2022 It is easy for young people to feel overwhelmed or feel isolated. #RUOKDay reminds us to check in with our family and our friends. Start the conversation by asking R U OK?

04.01.2022 Sticking together by staying apart. Physical distance slows the spread of coronavirus and protects people who are more vulnerable because of their older age ...or health conditions. By slowing the outbreak, we can avoid a sudden surge of cases from overwhelming hospitals and health workers, who are putting themselves at risk to protect us. Right now, the best way of showing that we care about our friends, family and community is to keep at least one metre from each other or to simply stay at home. Stay safe, stay smart and spread kindness by keeping your distance.
