23.01.2022 Some pregnancy conditions respond amazingly as Hope experienced, some take a few treatments, but either way it's amazing to see the difference the techniques I use can make for women

22.01.2022 There are immense changes that occur to a woman’s body both mentally and physically during pregnancy and birth. The postnatal period can be quite overwhelming looking after a baby 24/7 and often there is very little support for the mother during a time when she really needs it and she will be focusing on looking after her baby and the rest of the family rather than investing in postnatal care for herself. Following the birth of your baby, reflexology can assist you to feel m...ore energised, rebalance your body’s symptoms to heal from labour and birth, ease muscle discomfort, improve mood, and help you have more restful sleep. The women that have been receiving pregnancy reflexology often continue postnatally as they appreciate the benefits and the way they feel physically and emotionally following a treatment. Postnatal reflexology after birth can start as early as you like, I’ve given treatments as early as the day following birth. If you had an easy vaginal birth, an interventional birth or a caesarean section postnatal reflexology can support your recovery. 19.01.2022 What can you expect from a pregnancy treatment with mumabuba? I use an integrated approach to supporting you through pregnancy and birth. After the consultation, I put a treatment plan together to address your needs. During a treatment I will use techniques to ease common pregnancy ailments such as nausea and reflux with reflexology and acupressure (Shiatsu), release physical tension within the back and pelvis caused by the growing uterus with massage, bodywork and yoga. U...se craniosacral therapy to reduce stress and the effects on both you and your baby, discuss and explore any fears and concerns you may have about birth and having a newborn, whilst also considering your own experience of birth and any birth imprints that may affect your ability to birth your baby. Contact me to find out more about how I can support you during your pregnancy and preparing for birth.

18.01.2022 Locals We have been purchasing our meat from Maugers Meats for a couple of years now and they are expanding their delivering to the area as of next week. Their meat is amazing, it's all grass-fed, customer service fantastic and I love that I’m purchasing straight from the farmer. I can highly recommend

17.01.2022 Having trouble with emails at the moment, please send me a message instead.

17.01.2022 Whether you are trying for a baby, pregnant or mothering, we all need someone to check in with us and make sure we R OK! But if someone asks me R U OK? my answer would be yes fine, even on the hard days. By recognising we are going through some challenging times at the moment and asking a question like "How are you going?" or "How are you doing?" it's more likely to get a person talking about how they are feeling.... Today is R U OK? day. An initiative to raise awareness of mental health issues and to remind us to ask family and friends the question, "R U OK?". #RUOK

14.01.2022 This was where it all started for me, I was under the care of an endocrinologist for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and it was looking like I would need medical fertility treatment to get pregnant. I wanted to try everything possible to conceive naturally before going down this route, so I started having weekly reflexology treatments as I had been told it was really good for fertility. I received weekly reflexology for 5 months and my periods went from every 7 weeks to ev...ery 5 and I fell pregnant a month before I was due to start the medical fertility treatment! From the moment I received my first treatment I was so impressed I decided to train as a reflexologist myself and after completing my diploma I went on to specialise in maternity reflexology. 17 years later and many other qualifications under my belt, reflexology is still my favourite modality. Regardless of whether you are just wanting to prepare yourself for conception, you have a condition which may affect your ability to conceive or you have a known problem and are undergoing medical fertility treatment, reflexology can be of great benefit for you. 14.01.2022 Pregnancy is a time where many medications are considered unsafe and so women are left unable to manage their symptoms. Reflexology can provide a natural solution to these symptoms and assist a woman to feel physically, emotionally and mentally well during her pregnancy and ready for birth. Pregnancy reflexology in the first trimester It’s fantastic to be able to transition to pregnancy reflexology during the first trimester for those that have been receiving reflexology to h...elp conception, however unfortunately most women that hear about reflexology do so much later in their pregnancy. The first trimester is a great opportunity to help ease nausea, morning sickness and fatigue. Support during this time can be really helpful as many women are quite isolated until their antenatal care starts at 12 weeks. To continue reading this blog post click on the link in the comments.

06.01.2022 Today marks the start of World Reflexology Week. Reflexology is very close to my heart as it’s the treatment that helped me start my mothering journey and is the main foundation to many treatments I give. Follow me this week as I explore what reflexology is and how it can assist women trying for a baby, during their pregnant and following the birth of their baby.

06.01.2022 I’m always honoured when a woman puts her trust in me to be part of her birth and parenting journey. But coming back during subsequent pregnancies is just amazing, seeing babies grow, mothers blossom and new siblings added to the family, it's the best

05.01.2022 Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day - A day to honour babies who have passed away from miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn death.

05.01.2022 I used complementary therapies at different stages of my pregnancies from fertility to motherhood. Having experienced the many benefits first hand, I decided to specialise in providing pregnancy-related treatments myself. I suffered from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and I wanted to try everything possible to conceive naturally, so I started having weekly reflexology treatments, my periods went from every 7 weeks to every 5 and I fell pregnant a month before I was d...ue to start the medical fertility treatment! This was fantastic but I was told I could no longer receive treatments whilst pregnant. My pregnancy was great, but my first birth experience was traumatic and I struggled postnatally and with breastfeeding. I did some investigating and found that most of the reservations about the use of complementary therapies through pregnancy were due to a lack of specialist training, despite there being lots of research to show complementary therapies can have a positive impact on birth outcomes. I decided to focus on developing all of the skills necessary to provide complementary health treatments for women during every stage of their pregnancy and in 2004 I set up my own business providing specialist complementary therapies from fertility to early motherhood. I used all the techniques to help me get pregnant again and continued during my pregnancies. My 2nd daughter was born in the UK, at home in a birthing pool with no intervention. My son was born in Australia in 2016, again at home in a birthing pool, I was surrounded by my husband, two daughters and my mum, with my grandad in the background. They all got to experience the wonderful moment that my son was born, an experience that will remain with us all forever. More than a decade on, I have not stopped training and adding to my skills, because I love what I do and I am passionate about helping other women to have a positive birth and parenting experience. To learn more about me and what I can offer women, please visit my website. See more

05.01.2022 Welcome to this 4 part series exploring reflexology and how reflexology can assist women in their fertility, pregnancy, birth and the postnatal/lactation experience. Reflexology is an amazing modality, but the positive benefits that it can have throughout pregnancy are not very well known here in Australia, so what better time to increase awareness of this amazing modality than during world reflexology week. What is reflexology?... Reflexology has been traced back to the days of Cleopatra and the ancient Egyptians. The most common form of reflexology is foot reflexology and is based on the theory that different points in the feet correspond with different areas of the body. There are over 7,000 nerve endings on the feet and these nerve endings are linked to every organ and system of the body. Reflexology can help to unblock the flow of energy in organs and re-balance entire systems, and therefore reflexology can be a very powerful treatment on both a physical and emotional level. 05.01.2022 I love receiving messages to say thank you, it's pretty special when someone takes the time to write a note or send a card. But when I received gifts like this my heart melts. Making a positive difference to women and their babies is the best job ever

04.01.2022 Today is International Homebirth Day. Homebirth holds a special place in my heart having had 2 homebirths after a traumatic hospital delivery. Sadly homebirth is often portrayed as risky and unsafe, however, research shows for low-risk women it is safe and stats show that there is an increased chance for normal vaginal birth, less intervention and a reduction in perineal trauma and postpartum haemorrhage.... The home environment can give a sense of familiarity and security, which can help labour to progress, you are also surrounded by your own microbiome, something which has huge influences on a babies health and wellbeing for the rest of their life. If you are intrigued about homebirth and what it might be like as an experience, Emma Isaac recently screened her home waterbirth live via instagram, you can see her birth in her memories and some videos post birth in IGTV. https://www.instagram.com/emmaisaacs/ Love to all the midwives who go above and beyond to support women's choices, thank you #normalisingbirth #homebirth

03.01.2022 The mumabuba philosophy acknowledges and celebrates your uniqueness and individuality. The birth of a baby is also the birth of a mother, and the experiences we have in our journey to motherhood can have a profound and long-lasting effect on us as individuals, on our babies and on our families as a whole. Investing in the best support available during this essential time is an investment in the future of your family that you will continue to benefit from and will pass to your... next generation. That’s why I created mumabuba as a Centre of Excellence, to provide you with the best complementary support there is to help you achieve a positive birth and parenting experience. The aim of mumabuba is to provide complementary support for you, your partner and your buba through every stage of your journey. Through mumabuba, I am part of your circle of support to help you prepare for, embrace and enjoy the journey to motherhood. Because I support all stages of pregnancy I can provide you with a level of continuity of care that you will not find anywhere else. You will see that everything I do is a little different. For example, you won’t find a massage couch in my consult room, climbing up onto a narrow, uncomfortable couch isn’t easy when you are pregnant. Instead, I use a purpose made floor mattress and lots of comfy cushions so that you feel completely safe, supported and comfortable, and as an added bonus, you can have your buba laying next to you, or even breastfeeding, while you receive a wonderful combination of bodywork, reflexology and Shiatsu.
