25.01.2022 Hyne Timber Rescue was out again today, rendering assistance to a runabout with fuel problems in the Mary River. With a tow back to River Heads, this boatie was happy he had on-water membership with MRHB. #BoatSafe #ItPaysToBelong #VisitFraserCoast

24.01.2022 Saturday’s duty crew got called in early to render assistance to a 5.5m runabout with engine troubles anchored just off the Kero Shed on Big Woody Island. Hyne Timber Rescue made easy work of getting the two adults and two little kids safely back to Urangan Boat Harbour. #BoatSafe

24.01.2022 Crew Re-Validation Day! This is the annual test where our operational competent crew ensure their skills and knowledge are at the standard needed to be effective. Lunch was provided by our fundraising ‘Sizzlers’, during which our newest crew Doug, Julie and Col were presented with their certificates. #BoatSafe #SOLAS

23.01.2022 Please note the following closures to various areas of Fraser Island due to the current fires.

23.01.2022 07/10/2020: Great Sandy Straitbeacon removed and replaced with buoy AUS charts affected: 240, 817 - Dream Island

23.01.2022 As Hyne Timber Rescue headed to Kingfisher Bay jetty this afternoon for a medivac, it provided her crew an opportunity to see some of the fires on the western side of Fraser Island. On the return leg, firebomber aircraft were observed picking up water SW of Little Woody Island for deployment on fire fronts. Sad times for Fraser Island, but kudos to all the fire fighters.

22.01.2022 Conditions weren’t exactly perfect for the tow of a 10m ketch from Ungowa back to Urangan Boat Harbour today, but Hyne Timber Rescue’s crew made it happen. #BoatSafe #ItPaysToBelong #VisitFraserCoast

20.01.2022 The Maintenance Team have just finished resurfacing the pontoon gangway. This non-skid paint should reduce the risk of incidents at different tide states and weather conditions. In other news, Rescue I Project Manager John took some MRHB members to check out the build. Some things of note on this visit as pictured: the bow boarding ramp has been fitted, the handrail leading to the galley has been fitted, and the wheelhouse overhead has been progressed. No rest for Allweld of Maryborough. Hand Heart Pocket

20.01.2022 Know when to say ‘no’...or ‘yeah, nah’. Whichever keeps you safe. #BoatSafe #BewareTheTide

20.01.2022 Recently, a lot of our training outings have been curtailed due to operational activations, but not today as both Hyne Timber Rescue and Rescue III to headed out for some finishing experiences for four of our crew course members. Rafting and towing in less than favourable conditions made it all the more real, and then some anchoring. Well done to all involved.

20.01.2022 Some excellent advice from FCRC. We all should dispose of batteries, flares and EPIRBs responsibly.

19.01.2022 MRHB responded to this late afternoon. Fantastic work by RACQ Lifeflight locating the 4 guys in the late daylight hours!

16.01.2022 Our compatriots at VMR445 have cancelled their raffle. Shame.

15.01.2022 A challenging activation today for the crew of Hyne Timber Rescue. A 7.6m trailer sailer needed a tow back to Urangan from the vicinity of Kingfisher Bay. Conditions were far from favourable with a strong northerly, but the crew got the yacht connected and under tow. Soon after, there was a serious fall on board the yacht that required Rescue III (with a First Responder and two Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics on board) to meet the vessels sheltered in the lee of Big Woody island. After the patient was stabilised, the vessels were accompanied back to Urangan by a serious thunderstorm and rain. Once back, Hyne Timber Rescue was reactivated for another medivac from Kingfisher Bay.

13.01.2022 Hyne Timber Rescue was called out for a medivac from Kingfisher Bay jetty at 8.30 last night. A great experience for two of our latest qualified crewies Doug and Denis. For those following at home, the yellow lanyards secure Personal Locator Beacons that each crew member carries at night or in certain conditions. #SOLAS #MissionFirstSafetyAlways

11.01.2022 The vessel that was anchored Superboats course off Shelly Beach in 2018, and then sank earlier this year, is being removed. The removal of this hazard to navigation is a timely reminder to us all to anchor carefully, to monitor our vessels when at anchor, and always be aware of underwater hazards as we enjoy our local waterways. #BoatSafe

11.01.2022 Behind the scenes at MRHB. What was once the boat shed for our two vessels, Hyne Timber Rescue and Hervey Bay RSL Rescue, will be transformed into work space. We thank Fraser Coast Regional Council for their assistance through a Community Project grant. #VisitFraserCoast #BoatSafe

11.01.2022 EPIRBs save lives, but need to be disposed of correctly. Don’t take lifesaving services away from the job of saving lives. Dispose of unwanted EPIRBs appropriately and safely. #BoatSafe

10.01.2022 Hyne Timber Rescue came off the water today for a good hull scrub and engine maintenance by Aquaholics Outboard Service. HTR was back on the water by early afternoon, a happy little vessel.

10.01.2022 Our friends at Allweld in Maryborough are hiring! https://www.facebook.com/531171276975149/posts/3705777302847848/?d=n

07.01.2022 One of our major supporters, Hyne Timber is working hard to save a community in NSW. Tumbarumba, a beautiful little place worth visiting when you can, is doing it tough after the fires earlier this year destroyed the timber plantations and the timber industry on which the town survives is in jeopardy. Hyne Timber: supporters of the community; near and far.

06.01.2022 An important reminder from AMSA, as well as some great work by AMSA and WA VMR. Life jackets save lives. EPIRBs save lives. Neither are expensive. Wear your life jacket, buy an EPIRB and make sure it’s registered with AMSA. Your life depends on it. #BoatSafe Australian Maritime Safety Authority

05.01.2022 Just advising that the Marine Rescue Hervey Bay Office will re-open again to the public at 9.00am tomorrow (Friday 15 Jan 2021). Opening hours for the Admin Office are: Mon, Wed and Fri - 9.00am - 2.00pm... #staysafe #boatsafe

05.01.2022 Thankfully no one was injured in this incident in NSW last night. A number of painful lessons learned along the way: Have the right equipment. Make sure that equipment works and is available. Know where you are and how you’ll get to where you need to be. Know and work within the limitations of vessel and crew. #BoatSafe

04.01.2022 Hyne Timber Rescue and her crew were called out at 7:30 this evening to render assistance to a 4.2m runabout with a Mum, Dad and 2yo child on board. They had been returning to River Heads from Gary’s Anchorage when engine troubles befell them. A setting crescent moon made for a dark night that was frequent rent by distant lightning. A dramatic setting for the young family to be sure.

03.01.2022 Some of our stalwart sausage sizzlers visited the build of Rescue I at Allweld in Maryborough yesterday. The effort of these guys and gals, along with Hand Heart Pocket the Charity of Freemasons QLD, has assisted greatly in MRHB getting our new rescue vessel. Well done all. #SausageSizzle
