25.01.2022 I’d rather buy once and buy well these day, what about you? Gone are the days of buying every pretty thing I find, now I choose carefully, pay for quality and only bring things into my home that I truly love. This lamp is one of those pieces. The base was my Mums and I lovingly polished the brass back to a beautiful shiny patina. The shade was made by the gorgeous girls at @sachsandcornish It was so fun choosing a fabric from their incredible range. It’s a really affordable way to get a stunning textile into your home that makes a big impact. Yes, it’s an investment, but It’s so worth it! #treatyourself

20.01.2022 We all know how I love things in pairs - lamps, cushions, armchairs, and now I have the matching dryer to my washing machine! I know you will understand my excitement, this is adulting at its finest ... matching appliances! I’ve been using my #electrolux 8kg heat pump dryer from @betta.com.au all winter and it’s been an absolute life saver. The kids go to school with matching socks and dry sweaters, I am a supermum! 18.01.2022 I’m sure indoor gardens with black rocks, black elephant statues, grass tree plants and green lighting were very fashionable once upon a time ... maybe some people still like it, each to their own, it’s just not for me. It’s the first thing you used to see when you walk through the front doors. Our front doors are truly beautiful and one of my favourite things about this house, the black rock garden was detracting from the gorgeous french doors and giving the wrong first impression for our home. 17.01.2022 A stylists life during Covid ... this HUGE bookcase was delivered to my home on Tuesday, I styled and photographed it on Wednesday and it was packed up and picked up by Thursday. 16.01.2022 Things don’t always go to plan, the wind tried to blow away my table setting today, I shared some #behindthescenes and y’all flooded my inbox with questions, so I thought I’d share my non-perfect #reallife pictures and answer your questions anyway - Okay, the table is teak, I’m not going to oil it, it will weather to a smooth grey appearance, yes, you can oil it if you would like to maintain the warm timber finish. 15.01.2022 Can we please take a second to marvel at the fact that I got all 3 fur babies to sit and stay at the same time! I think they might be admiring our @potterybarnaus rug, isn’t she a beauty! Her name is Eva and we are in love. She is warm, velvety soft and oh so gorgeous. We are ready for winter, I can’t wait to light the fire. Are you ready for the cold weather? I love it!

14.01.2022 Who remembers Troy? He came to live with us last year and he has been the most hard working and reliable member of our household. He works without complaining 24/7, he is quiet and he looks good. Troy is our washing machine. 12.01.2022 Today I had paperwork and housework on my to-do list, instead I went to breakkie with my Mumma, then foraged olive branches and fresh limes from her garden. I came home, lit the fire ... then raced around like a looney person getting all the crap done I should have done this morning. So worth it though! Do you like playing hooky too?

11.01.2022 Came home to this today. When the packaging matches your front entry ... it’s the little things that make me happy I also managed to find the perfect weighted blanket and bed topper, both from @ecosa_sleep I know a few of you were waiting to see which weighted blanket I chose. This one is beautiful bamboo, front and back, and has glass micro beads in hexagonal pockets. It’s also a standard size which is big enough to cover your entire body, but also small enough to be machine washable. I learnt that anything bigger than this would have issues with weight distribution and will be too big and heavy to wash. I’ll keep y’all updated

I’m on my way out the door and smiling under my fancy face mask because Holly is ready to be picked up from the vet, she might not have many teeth left but I’m sure she’s going to feel so much better. 10.01.2022 I constantly get asked for tips on styling and photography. I’m not a professional photographer, but I did do photography as a subject at school over 25 years ago, does that count? Anyhoo ... One of the things I had to overcome when I started styling was photographing things in unlikely places. Remember the gorgeous outdoor setting I showed you a few days ago, here it is again ... on my front driveway, not very practical, but it’s a lush green backdrop that works beautifully for outdoor furniture. 08.01.2022 These two ... cutest couple ever! Bella was lucky enough to accompany Alex to his formal last night, lucky because it actually went ahead during these crazy Covid times! I know there are so many seniors that will miss their formal and other milestone celebrations this year, it’s a time that they can’t postpone or get back and my heart breaks for them. We are lucky here in QLD (for now) that most of their events and ceremonies have, or are going ahead, but in a reduced capacity with social distancing, etc... I’m grateful for what we are allowed, but I’m sad that they have and will miss so much. What have you and your kids had to postpone or cancel? Vent away! @ Trinity Lutheran College - Ashmore Campus

07.01.2022 Duffy is nearly the same age as Orly, we thought we were going to lose him for a while after washing him to within an inch of his life, thank goodness for our #electrolux washer and dryer that are gentle on clothes (and toys) he’s still alive to snuggle another bedtime I got my #matchingset from @betta.com.au in beautiful #blueandwhite ... 07.01.2022 Remember when I threw out all my cotton sheets and only kept pure linen? Then I discovered 100% organic bamboo, it’s soft and silky smooth, it looks ultra luxurious and it comes in so many beautiful colours like this olive green that stole my heart, now I’m obsessed with bamboo. 07.01.2022 Christmas is creeping into our house ... I made these sweet stockings from fabric remnants today while I filled the house with scents of the season. I’m burning @partyliteaus Evergreen Fir today and it smells like a freshly cut christmas tree! I can’t wait to finish decorating my mantle with layers of foliage and twinkly lights. 06.01.2022 HELP! I’m not even joking when I tell you it took me over an hour to get this fire going today ... Paper on the bottom Kindling on the paper Small logs with room for air circulation NOPE ... Is there a secret? Please share with me, and I’ll share what I know with you. We learnt a couple of things during fire season last year - foraged sticks are better than store bought skewers for toasting marshmallows and having a sheepskin rug in front of a fire is just plain silly, black soot is messy! This year, we have a gorgeous new (not white!) rug and we’ll be twig hunting on the weekend. Now I just need to work out how to light the fire in under 15 minutes ....
