21.01.2022 Freckle is now a young pup on his own in the Mungindy family. Elbee is being a great elder brother, training him, mouthing him and looking after him. Gindi mum looking on with loving care and Barra dad, is caught in the middle of having a loud bark. Freckle is looking for a loving home like his brothers and sisters have found. You can see our details on Dogzonline, under Mungindy puppy advert.

18.01.2022 Three generations, brother and sisters. Beautiful blues from Barra and Gindi. Elbee, Loki, Blu

15.01.2022 Freckle veging out watching TV with big brother. My brothers and sisters have found homes I am settling into this one, but I know there is someone out there who really wants me. I don't have competition at the feed bowl anymore and I am looking for someone to love me and be part of their family. Love Mungindy Freckle

15.01.2022 Barra has just celebrated his 11th birthday with the Mungindy family, but this nearly didn't happen as we came very close to losing him at the end of last mont...h. This is a wonderful story of a dog’s sheer determination and a truly professional veterinary service. We went away for two nights for our son's wedding, leaving the Mungindy family well looked after by close friends. We came home on a high to find Barra on an absolute low, disorientated, stressed, with breathing difficulties. We rang our vet, they had just closed, so we rang the other local vet. He was incredibly helpful and said if he's not stable in 40 minutes ring back. In the meantime we spoke to our friend who stayed overnight. She said he was good in the morning. We also found Norwest veterinary hospital open till 11 pm. We rang the vet back and he said, get him to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital and they immediately took a blood sample for a blood test so that we could have the results that evening, he also took his temperature that was a raging 40.9. The blood test came back showing nothing outside the range. Next morning off to our local Vet practice. Barra’s temperature was still raging, they put him on a drip straight away and worked on a diagnosis. It looked very much like it could be a tumor, 11 year old undesexed male prostate cancer there is a large abdominal lump, a biopsy was taken and sent it off for analysis. This was the start of a roller coaster week, visiting that evening I left my t-shirt, he was stable. The visit in the morning little better, the results had come back no abnormal cells. On the Wednesday evening we took mother and son to visit Barra. When the dark storm clouds came into the family they needed to know, Gindi somewhat aloof and son Elbee very freaked out but both relieved to see he is with us. That night’s visit we saw the results which were very good in detail, vague to what it actually could be. It didn't rule out the tumor but it did mention a foreign body such as a grass seed which was unlikely but certainly it could be an abscess. The next morning Barra started to drink and a little more mobile, with his temperature slowly coming down. By Friday prognosis was still far from good, he wasn't eating or pooing, but his temperature had come down closer to normal. One of the vet’s was going to try him that afternoon on an appetite stimulant. His comment was ‘before I could give it to him I looked around to see he had just eaten the cats dinner.’ The mass still about 100 mm diameter and possibly was moving. The decision was that Barra should come home for the weekend from Saturday afternoon with all his medication, and with an ability to have contact in an emergency. Temperature back to normal, eating, but no poo. Monday morning he's close to being back to his good old self and he did a poo and what a beauty.! At the consult at the vets that evening the vet felt the mass was getting smaller. He showed me how to measure its size. At the next consult that Friday evening the vet thoroughly examined Barra, looked up at and asked, what was my diagnosis, I replied, what tumor what mass and he said I agree with you. Now that's a month ago. I told the story to a friend, here is one very determined dog who she knew well, Barra doesn't do masses or tumors. Isn't it a wonderful story of how three different veterinary practices and a dog’s will, won the day. See more

14.01.2022 On Barra's birthday, the Mungindy family headed off to the Grose River for an afternoon of fun

07.01.2022 Mungindy Dave says, our puppies have found their new homes much faster than the Mungindy family anticipated, leaving Mungindy Freckle, he is a red boy, just turned 8 weeks old and with a blooming personality. How cool is that from birth to 8 weeks, the Australian Cattle dog develops. He is looking for a wonderful home like his brothers and sisters have recently found. The pup featuring in the video is Freckle.

05.01.2022 Freckle, Barra and Gindi's little 8 1/2 week old red boy is having a great time, while waiting for someone to love him and take him home with them. After this morning's play he was so tired he went and wedged himself in his big teddy bear, only to be scooped up and taken for a walk up the driveway with the other dogs. He is so alert, 'no I am not being carried, I will trot alongside my mum and big brother' Check us out on Dogzonline under Mungindy profile and puppy adds.

05.01.2022 Gindi turned 6 today. The Mungindy family went up to the river at Windsor for a birthday outing. They had ball playing, swimming, caught up with two other Cattle dogs one red and a 14 week old blue pup. Played until last light with the beautiful colours over the river. The photo here is of Gindi, just as we were about to leave as dark set in.

04.01.2022 Today 3 years ago, Barra and Gindi had a litter of pups. Happy Birthday to Bluey, Blu, Chloe, Fred and Nash from the Mungindy family. We went outback last year with our three dogs, Barra, Gindi and Elbee and came back with Waiiri Meg.

01.01.2022 How good is this. Mungindy Cattle Dogs proudly announce their latest arrival in the early hours of this morning, MEG. The two legged homo sapien parents Vicki (Waiiri) and Dave (Mungindy) have succeeded in keeping the cattle dog breed going for friends who know our dogs. Please stay tuned.
