17.01.2022 Keeping with the past years trends of zoom meetings, skype calls and digital relationships the Wombats and the Mining Games are back! This years games will be contested digitally. In short what that means is all teams will film themselves competing in all the usual events and upload the film to a google drive folder to be judged and scored. The games will be judged in accordance with a general set of rules currently being compiled and set to be the standard for years to come.... All teams are aiming to compete on the weekend of 19-21st of March with allowances to be granted for anyone subjected to travel restrictions or other prevailing circumstances. If any alumni teams wish to enter the competition please get in touch with us via messenger. With no travel out of WA required, hopefully we have a strong showing on this front! Finally we would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support during these times. While life is effectively back to normal in WA many other places are not as lucky but these games show the strength and proud history of both the mining games and the wider mining games community.

Some of these include silver sponsors in the WA School of Mines (back at our wind-up earlier in the year), Orica Mining Services, and Tasman Safety And Training Services. 06.01.2022 The Wombats have been very busy this week helping out with the first year Curtin engineering camps, showing them what WASM and mining games is all about. We also had the opportunity to teach the community of @cityofkalgoorlieboulder our skills at the @curtinuniversity WASM open day. Lastly we finished off yesterday celebrating 125years of gold in Norseman and volunteering for the state rockdrill championships, we also had the chance to have a go at rockdrilling and gain some tips from the experts. 05.01.2022 Last Saturday June 30 saw the WASM Wombats help out at the KCGM Open Day, with many participants finding out what the Wombats are all about. The WASM Wombat even came out to gold pan and hand out lollies! The day was a great success, and we thank and congratulate KCGM on their 30th year of operations on the Gold Mile.

04.01.2022 2019 Export cup is coming this Saturday! All the action starts 9 am at the competition grounds at Hannans North Tourist Mine. Those who are competing please be prompt! We will provide lunch for those competing and judging. PLEASE ENSURE YOU USE THE BACK ROUTE TO THE TOURIST MINE AS THE FRONT GATE WILL BE CLOSED. Please refer to the map posted. ... After comp we will reconvene at the Wombats shed on campus at 6pm to announce the winners and enjoy a BBQ dinner. Those who are not competing or judging please bring $5 to cover the BBQ. Sponsors and spectators are all welcome!
