25.01.2022 The team at Muratti are still recuperating from our BIGGEST DAY TO DATE! Our legs may still feel broken from last Saturday but our spirits certainly are not! After a massive weekend, were jumping right into Step One of the tentative easing of restrictions. That said, we ask you, our loyal customers, to help us get through this - just as you have been doing for the past six weeks.... We respectfully ask that you are patient and kind (to our staff and fellow patrons) as we try to distinguish the best way to operate in this ever-changing climate, whilst keeping public health at the forefront. 23.01.2022 Ah yes, the age old question, why is Muratti closed on Sundays?! Usually, those in this industry choose to close on days where trade may be quieter - perhaps Monday or Tuesday. Our pastry chefs and bakers start their days at 5am. Often even as early as 3am. Our front-of-house team is made up of full-time students, sons, daughters and even a couple of new dads! We are just like you. ... After almost 30 years of trading, we trust that you have gotten to know us very well. We certainly know you - if we made your 1st birthday cake, its likely we made your 21st birthday cake as well! This is an honour and a privilege. It also serves as a strong reminder that our team, at all levels of the business, must also spend valuable time with their loved ones. This is why we choose to close on Sunday in particular. 05.01.2022 There are many people behind the scenes of Muratti that are integral to its success. Beyond our customers, staff, suppliers and families, there was a man who was there from day dot: Werner. Rewind 30 years: Youre a couple of new business owners and a suave, clever, smiley, retired toolmaker walks through the door of your cake shop and says (with his darling German accent) that he will convert your ideas into tools to surely assist with efficiency and convenience. Esse...ntially, you think of it and Ill make it. Oh, and, the products he makes will never have to be repaired. Thats a lifetime warranty and a pretty good guarantee. Deal. We had it all: tables, stainless steel solutions, one-of-a-kind equipment ... but most of all, we gained a true friend and well-respected treasure of the Muratti family. Last week, we said goodbye to him for the last time. Werners positive outlook on life was inspiring and his workmanship was second to none. In Werners Production Kitchen, we can only aspire to continue to portray the precision and quality he once showed, through the cakes and gateaux that we make for you. His legacy lives on and we hope to respect it well; if youre going to do something, do it once, well and right. Swing by some time and celebrate Werners life with us. Werners coffee of choice was always a flat white and our recent product, the Rose-Berry cheesecake, is named in his honour.

As my role involves training new and exisiting staff, I hope to continue the same ideology that Robert encourages in regard to pastry. I started my career as a Pastry Chef at a place very different to Muratti. I am now nine years into my career and most of it has been spent at Muratti. Here, I have been able to explore my creativity while honing in on my skills. I am excited to see what the future will bring for myself and Muratti.
