14.01.2022 Just along South Esk river in Launceston sits one of the region's most incredible engineering feats: Duck Reach, a hydroelectric power station that resulted in Launceston being the first city in the southern hemisphere to have electric street lights Duck Reach Power Station still sits between the craggy walls of Cataract Gorge by the side of the South Esk river, despite shutting down operations over 60 years ago.
