21.01.2022 IRON CHARIOT has been knocking on the door with four minor placings in eight starts. Can it be his day at Charlton on Monday after the closest of seconds at Horsham at his latest start? We’re also taking METRO MAN, which looks well suited for a forward showing from the pole, and IMAGE OF COURAGE, which out in an improved run second-up for us, to the Central Victorian circuit.

21.01.2022 IRON CHARIOT and ATEGO SHADES are knocking on the door and head to Ballarat on Wednesday. 3yo Iron Chariot has been counting down towards a career breakthrough, finishing a close-up last start second at Horsham. Atego Shades has five seconds in his past six starts.... JULIUSTIGRES also runs in Ballarat after being held up for a clear run at the track a week ago.

20.01.2022 TRIPLE ZED and JULIUSTIGRES carry the stable colours at Terang on Wednesday night. Triple Zed is having his fifth start and will have to deal with an awkward draw in six. Juliustigres is searching for her first win since Melton in June.

17.01.2022 HOWS THE SERENITY comes off a solid effort on debut, when she did not finish too far away, to line up at Bendigo on Wednesday night. She will be better for the experience, as will 2yo trotter RIOTERRA, who will also make his second visit to the races as part of our three-horse team at Lords Raceway

16.01.2022 We have two first-starters in Ballarat on Wednesday night. Angus Hall 2yo trotting filly RIOTERRA is out of Jet Laag mare Lillian Grey, which is the dam of Ta Failte Rote (1:57.3, 5 wins). She was bred and is raced by Alan Faux. Barna Straide 3yo pacing filly HOWS THE SERENITY is the first foal of Blissfull Bird to race. Blissfull Bird won three races for the stable a decade ago. ... Barna Stride has had only a handful of foals and is a half-brother to 11 winners, including the outstanding Saab (1:57.1, 21 wins, $577,000) and Talladega (1:57.8, 18 wins, $411,000).

12.01.2022 IRON CHARIOT produced a slashing last 400m to bring up his first win in the ELDERS 3YO PACE, 1609m, at Charlton on Monday. The son of Julius Caesar ran home in 27.5 seconds to rate 1:59.1 in scoring by almost 6m. The breakthrough followed four minor placings in eight visits to the races. Iron Chariot hails from one of the Ballarat region’s best maternal families. ... The colt is out of Sheza Beach Babe a daughter of champion racemare Sheza Mona, which was bred by Henry Moneghetti. Sheza Mona won 33 of 50 starts in the 1990s, with 24 of those victories being her first 26 starts as a 2yo and 3yo.
