09.01.2022 VISITING THE MURRAY REGION THIS HOLIDAY SEASON The Murray Region is open for business and looks forward to hosting visitors this holiday season. If you are intending to travel to New South Wales border towns and destinations during your stay in the region, you will need to apply for and receive a valid permit to re-enter Victoria. The permit is valid for fourteen days from the date of entry into Victoria and can be used multiple times. It should take less than 5 minutes to... process a permit application. Travel delays are expected on re-entering Victoria, so please plan ahead. As the Murray River is part of New South Wales, if you are staying on a houseboat, travelling on a paddle steamer or even water-skiing on the river, you will also require a permit.
