24.01.2022 Hi everyone It’s time to kick off season 2021! The start of the season will be here before we know it, and as always it takes a village to get us ready for round 1. I’m sure both parents and kids are excited to get back out there playing sport, chatting on the side lines, and re-connecting. The MJFC Community is a very strong one, and last year really demonstrated that while we weren’t able to play, the support of our local community was clearly evident in the way we intera...cted, supported local business and kept our kids active. There’s no doubt the Club is part of the glue that keeps us all together. It is time to tap into that fantastic community spirit we need volunteers to take up positions on the MJFC Committee to make sure we are ready for the season ahead, and to keep things running smoothly throughout the year. We have a few committee members who have stood down this year after years of involvement and we thank them for their enormous contribution. That means it is time for other parents to step up! We truly can’t get the season underway without a strong committee, so we really need your help. The positions currently vacant are: Registrar Tribunal Liaison Officer (for those rare times we need to sort out a match day issue) General Committee members If you’re interested in being involved but not sure what specific role would be suitable, we would welcome additional general committee members it is a great opportunity to be involved and see how the committee works and really important for us to be able to keep building on the knowledge of our parents as many of our committee members have been involved for a long time. A huge thank you and welcome to the committee to Peter Milus who has stepped in to the role of treasurer, Lou Graham as compliance officer and Gillian Fitzpatrick as the club secretary, thanks for your support! #gobeena

24.01.2022 I know we never got a game under our belt but we had some amazing coaches and helpers doing their best to get us to the start line. The @smjfl are looking for the best volunteer. We're searching for the 2020 Volunteer of the Year, presented by SMJFL Premier Partner @storage_king! Nominate a community ...member via the in our bio! Nominations close Tuesday 1 September. Selection criteria: Must have given notable voluntary service to Australian Football Must be a willing, voluntary contributor, having received no income from football (NB honoraria excepted) Must be an ambassador for the game of football who acts and works for the best interest of the game, never bringing the game into disrepute Those making nominations should make no more than one nomination for each nominee

21.01.2022 Now is the time to get our kids outdoors and active again. Yesterday my kids had their first softball training session in so long and they absolutely loved it!... After the best part of six months at home, we need all our kids back playing sport. It’s important not only for their physical health but their mental health as well. That’s why today we announced a $45m package of measures to get our kids active and cut costs for families. It includes vouchers for families to spend on sport clubs fees, uniforms and equipment; grants for schools to engage local sports clubs to hold before and after school activities or to purchase equipment; and for physical education experts to visit our schools. These programs roll out early next year. It’s a big package, but we all know how important keeping active is. Hopefully now we can enjoy the outdoors and sunshine a bit more!

16.01.2022 These guys are incredible. Smashed by covid, they are still looking out for us. Last Grand Final Eve they had a massive session, with the gym packed to the rafters for a 1 hr workout.......this year is a bit different , all their trainers will be running 2on1 or 1on1 outdoor PT sessions for 12 hrs straight. GF day will be a big one, so before you devour a platter of party pies, hit up the trainers for a PT session with all proceeds going to @beyondblueofficial . One local Beena family had their travel biz shut down overnight......so they opened another business. 13.01.2022 It’s that time of year again. With the AGM locked in for Monday 16th, we would love to have some fresh faces joining us on the committee. A few of us are getting a bit long in the tooth and 2021 would be a great opportunity to transition to a new group of enthusiastic parents. Under normal circumstances, we would have shaped the new committee over the previous year.
