24.01.2022 Thinking of selling your house? Here's some quick tips to help you get the price you're after! 1. FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT, so spruce up your home's exterior by adding inexpensive shrubs and pots of bright coloured flowers. Also, windows cleaned, lawns mowed, edges done & weeds gone! The outside entry should be clean and tidy, so remove all spider webs and dead loose leaves. 2. DECLUTTER & DEPERSONALISE. The more personal items you have, the less potential buyers can ima...gine themselves living there. Box up family photos, memorabilia and personal keepsakes and pop them into storage. Speaking of which, every buyer is looking for storage and you can never have enough of it, so consider removing half of your clothes (that you are currently not wearing ie summer wear) out of your wardrobe and neatly organise what's left in there. Your wardrobe will appear neat and tidy with room to spare! 3. BRIGHTEN WITH LIGHTS! The reason why most people fall in love with display homes is because they are clutter free, they are nicely styled and they have LOTS of 'bright warm light'. So change your light bulbs to a nice WARM light and increase the wattage, add lamps and make sure shrubs against windows aren't blocking your natural light. If they are, give them a haircut! 4. KITCHENS & BATHROOMS SELL, so they should be in tip top shape and clutter free. Adding an indoor pot plant can give the bathrooms a boost and make sure your hand & bath towels are clean and toilet seats are down. 5. CONSIDER HIRING AN INTERIOR DESIGNER / STYLIST to help give you tips on colour, styling and furniture placement to maximise the use of space. Adding cushions and throws can add warmth and help make a home feel cosy and a space where you want to be. Below is a house that I helped (with the owners) get ready for sale. We worked with their existing furniture, removed the clutter & personal items, added punches of colour with pillows, throws and decorative items. Happily, the owners got the price they wanted and it sold within a fortnight!
