25.01.2022 A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A VET | Dr Emma’s days are never dull. Today was a classic example. Heading to Melton Sth to visit a client, Emma passed a lonely and injured pelican in the emergency lane of the Western H’Way, a good 30kms as the Pelican Flys, from the nearest beach but not far from a local Fish ‘n’ Chip shop.... After receiving assistance from passing motorists and the Boys in Blue, Emma managed to assist the Pelican and safely transport her / him to the Melbourne Zoo.... The staff at Melbourne Zoo will be keeping a close eye on the lost pelican and will nurse her / him back to good health. We offered to pay the Bill..... Just added another chapter to the memoir. Stay Safe All. PS - Photos kindly supplied by assisting motorist.

20.01.2022 A GREAT READ | The Sunday Age had a wonderful article / opinion piece recently aptly titled ‘The dogs are in our corner, as always’. Three really cool things were: 1. In 2017, the ADF became the first defence force in the world to honour military working dogs; the Canine Operational Service Medal - bears the image of Quake, an army combat assault dog killed in action in Afghanistan. ... How good are our ADF! Forget pinning that medal on. We love you Quake! 2. Those who were more gravely wounded could call the dogs over so they could embrace them and have their company while they died. Can someone please pass me the tissues. As if dogs couldn’t get anymore awesome, they just did. 3. Trump is the first POTUS in 118 years to not own a dog while in the White House. Well there you go...now that pretty much explains everything. Enough said........... Stay safe, stay home and wash you hands. https://www.theage.com.au//the-dogs-are-in-our-corner-as-a
