20.01.2022 Stage 3 information has now been announced. - $1500/fortnight to employers to be passed onto employees to keep connected to an employer - Available to full and part time workers, sole traders, and casuals employed for 12 months or more. - Will apply via ATO for workers that were on books as at 1 March.... - Will flow from 1 May backdated to today. - If employee terminated since 1 March, then they will still be eligible - Business turnover needs to have reduced by 30% or more to be eligible for the scheme -Will be linked to STP lodgements for employers/employees Link to Register on the ATO Website Here: https://www.ato.gov.au/general/gen/JobKeeper-payment/ This has only just been announced. If you us...e a tax agent, you dont need to do anything; theyll have access to the info so they can lodge your tax return. If you lodge your own return, you can access your income statement by logging into our online services through myGov. Top tip: Wait until your employer marks your info as tax ready in myGov before you lodge (they should get it done before 31 July 2019). 11.01.2022 Self-isolating Tasmanians receive stimulus package Tasmanians forced to self-isolate during the coronavirus pandemic will receive emergency relief payments from the state government. State Premier Peter Gutwein announced a one-off emergency relief payment of $250 for individuals and $1000 for families forced to self-isolate, plus $2 million in primary health support for GPs and pharmacies, the ABC reports.... "We know this pandemic will also have very real and significant economic consequences, and our Government will do everything it can to manage and mitigate those impacts on businesses, jobs, families and the Tasmanian community," Mr Gutwein said. "Today, we have announced a $420 million support package which will provide additional support to the public sector and targeted assistance to our businesses and workforce to keep Tasmanians in jobs." Frontline workers with accommodation needs, as well as the hospitality, tourism, seafood and exports sectors, will also receive payments.

05.01.2022 SME Cash Flow Assistance SME cash boost The government will rollout a measure that will see businesses with a turnover of less than $50 million receive payments of up to $25,000 tax free, with a minimum payment of $2,000. These payments will be 50% of the amount withheld on employees salary and wages, up to a maximum payment of $25,000.... Eligible businesses that pay salary and wages will receive a minimum payment of $2,000, even if they are not required to withhold tax. Please note that these are not cash payments, rather a credit against your Activity Statements. Employers who lodge their BAS on a monthly basis will be eligible to receive the payment for the March 2020, April 2020, May 2020 and June 2020 lodgments, while quarterly lodgers will be eligible to receive the payment for the quarters ending March 2020 and June 2020. Supporting Apprentices and trainees The government is also supporting small business to retain their apprentices and trainees and eligible employers can apply for a wage subsidy of 50% of the apprentice or trainees wages paid from 1 January to 30 September 2020, up to a maximum of $21,000. https://treasury.gov.au/coronavirus/businesses

01.01.2022 There may be times when you are unable to pay your BAS by the due date. Usually, if you cant pay by the due date, you can enter into a payment plan. Be aware though, a general interest charge (GIC) will apply to any amount not paid by the due date.
