12.01.2022 Young chlldren gain so much from having a pet at home, especially a child friendly dog like this Airedale Terrier, Tinkerbelle. Here we see a peaceful and trusting acceptance of the toddler - the dog is calm and the baby is learning to be in touch with nature in the form of a dog. The bond between dog and baby helps mature baby's emotional intelligence ( EQ) or 'Self intelligence' as I call it in my book '80 Activities for a Bright Baby'. Other animals like cats and rabbits can also soothe but I must say calm gentle dogs have a slight edge on connecting with children.
