18.01.2022 Although heat makes you sleepy it’s not the ideal environment for staying asleep. As we fall asleep our core body temperature drops so keeping cool, especially during the summer months, will help you to stay asleep . The suggested bedroom temperature for a good nights sleep is between 15c and 19c. Here are some tips on beating the heat at night.... 1. When the temperature soars keep your bedroom blinds and windows closed during the day. 2. Choose cotton linen and pyjamas which are lighter and allow your skin to breathe. 3. Put your sheets in a sealed bag and place in the freezer for a few minutes before bed. 4. Take a cool shower before bed. 4. Use a fan if you don’t have air conditioning. 6. Drink plenty of water as you can easily become dehydrated if you sweat throughout the night.
