18.01.2022 Effectiveness of anal gland squeezing during your dog's bath. When bathing our dog, it is very important to include squeeze anal glands in the process, because it is this small part of our dog that is responsible for the unpleasant smell of dirty dogs, and if it is not done, your dog will smells bad within a few hours of receiving his bath. However, squeeze anal glands is a veterinary procedure that very few groomers can do. The anal glands are small glands located on either... side of the anal entrance on the outside surface of the rectum. When these glands need to be emptied, they fill with a fluid which has a strong, foul-smelling odor. Many dogs empty their anal glands themselves when defecating, but there are times when these glands do not empty themselves and they must be squeezed during the bath time to prevent abscesses and infections. Squeeze anal gland is a delicate procedure just for vet or experienced groomers and should not be attempted by the novice. An unskilled person who squeezes the anal glands can cause serious damage to this area. A good groomer can do this process without risks and can check the rectal area to report to you if there are an issue or abscesses that must be treated medically. 04.01.2022 Sometimes people wait to much to groom they doggies,as a result, they become entangled and accumulate dirt in their fur, this in turn, is very uncomfortable for the dog, or cause skin diseases. In addition, if you only bathe them without untangling, the water does not clean the skin, since it does not penetrate the layers matted fur. Consequently, it is highly recommended to do a regular grooming process every 3 or maximum 4 months to avoid health complications for your dog a...nd also to ensure an infection-free environment for your family. There are some photos of one of my clients that her owner waited too long for the grooming. This process was long, and dangerous because the matted fur were very close to her skin, but finally we succeeded. I make it clear that we do this work, but obviously our price goes up with extremely matted puppies. See more
