17.01.2022 Although most people come to scan with us to track their body fat loss and muscle gain, hydration is always our priority because it is one of the main building blocks to improved body composition. We often use the analogy of a grape (hydrated) and a sultana (dehydrated) purely because it’s easy to understand and is also how your muscle changes as your hydration changes. If your muscle mass decreases in your scan, your muscle is less hydrated and more likely than not, will de...crease in size and therefore have a smaller surface area to absorb the proteins and nutrients you are consuming, impacting on your muscle mass. You will also see a change in your protein levels. This doesn’t mean you have lost muscle or strength, you just aren’t as hydrated. So track your water between scans to ensure you stay well hydrated and don’t drop that muscle mass! My name is Suzzanah and I am the newest member of the My Evolution team I am a mum of 2 and a qualified nutrition coach that loves cooking and helping women regain control of their health and wellness. 13.01.2022 Check these results out from our very own staff member @leachhanna who is also a coach at @cube43fitness. #Repost @leachhanna with I have to admit the photo on the left is pretty embarrassing and makes me feel uncomfortable looking at it, but this is a post to show what hard work, being consistent and also holding yourself accountable for your health/fitness journey can do. ... I started at @cube43fitness last year at the beginning of October. I was nervous and scared as i walked into this gym knowing no one. I met some amazing people and have now got some wonderful friends who always help me, encourage me and also help motivate me with my lifts and workouts. To help me stay on track I also started using @myevolutionscans and it’s helped so much. Every month I’m able to track my progress and also see the changes that I wouldn’t be able to see in a mirror or on a normal set of scales. I admit I’m not perfect and I do enjoy my food and drinks but thanks to Cube43 I’m able to work all those things off and still achieve my goals. And yes I do work out 6/7times a week I’m now lucky enough to be apart of Cube43 as a Coach and work alongside My Evolution as a representative. 10.01.2022 Why is protein important? Protein is required by our bodies to survive and thrive. It is slowly digested in order to build muscle and helps keep us fuller for longer. Protein is used for muscle growth and repair, in our skeletal and connective tissue, as an immune system chemical and in our liver for protein synthesis or for energy. ... High levels of muscle mass relate directly to a better working metabolism as muscle and protein require more energy in a day to get going than fat. Where can we find protein? Great sources of protein include lean meat, fish and seafood, eggs, dairy and green vegetables to name a few. How much protein should I consume? This does differ but for active adults between 1.5-2 times body weight in grams per day is recommended. What should my levels be on my scan? Your protein levels should be within, or on the higher end of the range listed on your scan. The higher your level on your scan, the higher your overall muscle mass will be which is exactly what we want!
