25.01.2022 Tour of Linlithgow Palace today by the lovely Evie. Amazing history and such a beautiful Scottish town.

23.01.2022 We are finally off on our family Japan ski holiday. Follow me on Facebook for tips, photos and holiday ideas on Tokyo and Skiing Hakuba.

23.01.2022 Eastern Canada is an amazing option for a winter holiday. Lots of family activities, beautiful scenery and gorgeous cities.

23.01.2022 What a difference a day makes. Snow falling all night and the end of the Japanese New Year holiday. Our last day of skiing was great with snow on the mountain and no lift lines. We had some great runs back on Happo-One. 4 days ago we were skiing on ice and waiting 20mins to travel back up the mountain, today it was soft snow and no lines. Lots of room on the hills for long runs.... We found a great German restaurant at the base of Nakiyama slope for lunch. The clouds and wind rolled in after lunch making visibility poor, we could only see 20m, which made for an interesting, and slightly scary, run down. Kids even managed a toboggan ride at the base of the lift. It is our last day of skiing today, finally figured out the shuttle system. it is very good, but slightly confusing on arrival.

22.01.2022 Raining and cold in Tokyo, but did not stop us from having an amazing day. As Billy Connolly says no bad weather, just bad clothing options So we donned our warm waterproof gear and borrowed the free umbrellas from the hotel. Headed for the Shinjuku Gardens, lovely Japanese gardens and we stopped to warm up in a traditional Tea House in the gardens. A must do experience. ... Based on a tip (thanks R.G) we found the Chatty Chatty Burger House in Shinjuku. #ChattyChattyBurger A very small hole in the wall restaurant with honestly the best and yummiest burger selection. We also will be talking about this gem for years to come. Our next stop was the Samurai Museum. We all loved this tour- definitely wait for a tour guide to take you through, you hear all the history and fun tid bits. Samurai and Ninja demonstrations run from 2/3/4/5 pm so make sure you catch one of these shows, it is lots of fun and the kids loved it. As we jump on a plane tomorrow the batting cages seemed a good stop on the way home. Lots of fun and easy to use, it was the perfect way to end a fun day in Tokyo. All packed we are heading out for our last dinner in this exciting city. The hard part is choosing from all the amazing food options.

22.01.2022 I walked London today through pouring rain and sunshine. I have very wet feet and sore legs but London always amazes me. I stared in Piccadilly Circus-Trafalga Square-Big Ben & Houses or Parliament- Westminster Abbey-Buckingham Palace-London Eye-Shakespeares Globe-Tower Bridge and a view of Tower of London. And all the sites in between. It was a shame that Big Ben & HOP were covered in Scaffolding for cleaning, guess it has to happen sometime.

21.01.2022 So many cute videos of the monkeys playing, this one shows the Onsen.

21.01.2022 Love the little quirks of Tokyo, this is our room number sign.

20.01.2022 A New Year and A New Business - https://mailchi.mp/fbba/holiday-hours-exciting-news-2578648

20.01.2022 Hopefully the Airlines start to listen. It should be mandatory that children are seated with parents on flights. Families should not have to pay high seating costs to ensure they are together.

19.01.2022 Found the best Ramen Gyoza hut in Echoland, Hakuba. There is always a line up, the food was amazing.

19.01.2022 Had an amazing New years in Hakuba. Skiing New Years Day was great once the lifts opened at 11:00. All mountains were closed due to high winds in the morning. There as been very little snow so none of the lower hills are open, it means we are all skiing on the upper half of the mountain. Skiing high on a mountain has bought strong winds (Skiers were actually blown over ), heavy fog and of course, long lift lines as we are all skiing the same section of hill. Coming h...ome is also long as there are no ski runs out so all have to take the lift down. We have had 2 days of light snow, slopes are less icy, and staff are lovely and friendly. We are all still having a great time. Skiing Japan is a great way to bring in a new year. See more

17.01.2022 What a day of contrasts. It was our cultural day off skiing. Snow monkey Tour, they are so cute, could spend all day watching them. Only one swam in the Onsen but lots of babies to watch playing, and beautiful walk in through the forest. Nagano Prefecture is known for its apples, sake and chestnuts Next was a traditional Japanese hot pot lunch in Obuse, a gorgeous traditional town specializing in Apple pie, chestnut ice cream and sake distillery. Of course we bought ...home made apple pie, ice cream, apple Kit Kat and sake Next was a visit to Zenkoji Temple. An amazingly beautiful place, definitely worth a visit. It is New Years weekend so the temple was incredibly busy and we could not go inside but the outside was amazing to see. the shops and food stalls on the street leading to the temple were wonderful, I could have spend a day exploring just this area. To end the day we promised Lochlan a try at the shooting trance in Echoland. Kids and Parent had a blast, wanting to try it again tomorrow. See more

17.01.2022 Dubai certainly delivers on excitement and warm weather. Everything is bigger, brighter and they offer at least one of everything you could want. If there is a great store in the world, they will have it here. I have seen an Applebys, Tim Houstons, Hamleys, Bloomingdales, a 3 story waterfall in the Dubai Mall, an ice skating rink and Underwater Zoo to name a few. I usually prefer walking to explore but Dubai is very spread out and very hot, so the Hop-on Hop-off bus wa...s brilliant. Today I visited the Marina, Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, the Souk Madinat Jureirah and so much more. The Dubai Mall was amazing to wander around, with every brand and shop you could ask for. They have a KidZone that any kid would love, they also offer after school care! The Fountain show at the Mall and base of Burj Khalifa was amazing to watch. Eating out can be expensive, with main meals around AUD $30-40, bottle of beer AUD $20, glass of wine AUD $25 I bought dinner from Sainsbury, a curry for $5 and bottle of water. Dubai is good for the liver

16.01.2022 Day 2 on the Back-Roads Heart of England Tour. Stratford-upon-Avon to have a tour of Anne Hathaways cottage, Shakespeares home, the church he is buried in and their beautiful village. Then onto a wine and cheese tasting at Simon Weaver Organic Cheese in Bourton-on-the-Water #BackRoads #HeartofEnglandTour... #Cotswolds See more

16.01.2022 We have just checked into our hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Lagent hotel is in a great location and has 4 beds in one room, so no sharing! Breakfast is also included, a big plus with kids. The room is modern Japanese, kids love the futons, the bathroom is lovely with a bath and separate toilet. There is enough room for 4 suitcases, a fridge and hair ties to use when washing your face. They think of everything.

14.01.2022 The Japan Rail system is fantastic. We have the JR East pass 5 days in 14. We have used this pass to travel from Narita Airport to Tokyo to Nagano, back to Tokyo and out to Narita Airport again. We can even use it for the Yamamote line which takes us to our hotel in Shinjuku. The trains are nice, seats can be pre booked, there is lots of room for legs and baggage. Each seat has a charging station, table, drink holder and magazine holder. ... There is room above for luggage, bigger suitcases we stored behind the last seats. The trains leave right on time and do not stop long. So be at the platform and your coach number 15min before your train departs and be dressed and ready to exit the train before your stop. If you are slow to exit the train you will miss your stop

14.01.2022 Not that we needed a reason to travel as a Mum/Daughter team, but now we have to at least once a year

14.01.2022 The day stared warm and raining, not what you want on on ski trip! We were all a little down on the lack of snow (yes, that is grass on the beginner slope ) By lunch the cold front hit and the snow started to fall, or sideways with the strong wind Now it is falling softly, and we have had a day of skiing. A great way to bring in the new year. Happy New Year to you all, may 2020 be filled with family, love and travel.

13.01.2022 Finally starting to snow in Hakuba, the town looks so lovely. Had a great day on the slopes today. Skied Goryu and Hakuba47, both have enough snow to ski out to the bottom. Good snow cover, long lift lines, but lots of fun. Goryu has a great green hill for our beginner snowboarder, while the advanced skiers enjoyed the Intermediate runs from the top of the hill.

12.01.2022 I love walking the Southbank of London, it was my favorite way to spend a day when we lived in London. You can imagine all the other people who have walked those cobble stones over the centuries.

11.01.2022 A lovely hotel for a nights stay near the main Tokyo train station. There is an amazing model of Tokyo in the lobby with working trains and lights. A nights rest between flight and train to Nagano for skiing in Hakuba.

11.01.2022 First day of the Back-Roads Heart of England Tour. Starting our day in Oxford with a tour by one of the students. It was fascinating to hear their traditions and how their application process. Lunch was at Turf Tavern-where Bob Hawke entered the re its books for beer drinking! We stopped in Bladon to see Winston Churchills grave. The Kings Men Stone circle that dates to 3500 BC. ... Now relaxing in the most beautiful local hotel, The Kings Hotel, in the middle of Chipping Campdon. My room has exposed beams and a very comfortable bed

11.01.2022 First day of skiing, snow in the village. So excited to hit the slopes. Our little cabin Acorn Cottage, is so cute and modern traditional. #LoveSnowHolidays #SkiHolidays #FamilyHolidays

11.01.2022 I have had a wonderful final day in London. The rain held off and I spent the first 2 hours walking Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. I have spend many an hour walking these paths in the past, it is truly one of the most serene and naturally beautiful parks- my happy place. Kensington Palace now opens for tours. It has rooms showing Queen Victoria growing up here and then her life as queen. They also show the times and apartments of George II and his wife Caroline from 1...700s Usually in London I spend hours exploring the British Museum (my Favorite), this time I decided to wander through the Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. Both were fantastic and free (donation appreciated). No trip to London is complete without a stop at the Harrods Good court. It still amazes me the choice and quality of food. I did not make it to Hamleys this trip (Londons biggest toy store). I promise to visit next time when here with kiddies. Tomorrow I am off to Dubai, stay tuned.

10.01.2022 Had a wonderful day exploring Tokyo today. We visited the Senso-Ji Temple and Kaminari-Mon Gate in Asakusa. This temple is definitely worth visiting as are all the shops and restaurants surrounding it. The area around Uneo train station is also worth exploring with lots of food choices and souvenir shops. We were to visit the Imperial palace gardens but it started to rain, so we headed to Akihabara. A kids, and gaming parents dream. ... There are multi level gaming Sega stores and 5 story collectible stores. There is every toy and collectible you can imagine from Avengers, Anime, old school characters, Pokmon and so much more. My husband found the old school gaming Centre with Galaga, Pong, Pac-Man and all the old game collectibles, very happy husband! They also had old Nintendo machines, Donky Kong games etc. We ended up in Shinjuku for dinner and enjoy the atmosphere. Another day of exploring tomorrow. Kids had us visit a Cat cafe last night, not what I expected. Really just 2 rooms with cats to pat, ordering food and drinks is secondary. It was smelly and cats really did not like being patted, over stimulated probably. AUD$55 / half hour for the 4 of us I thought was quite expensive and probably not with it as we have cats we can pat for free at home!

09.01.2022 Thanks Echoland, Hakuba. We have loved our 6 days. Had amazing meals and lots of fun. Now off to Tokyo.

09.01.2022 Enjoyed a beautiful sunny day in Edinburgh today. The Royal Mile is always amazing, Grassmarket, Vintage stores and of course Edinburgh Castle.

08.01.2022 Holiday Hours & Exciting News - https://mailchi.mp/500910c092c9/holiday-hours-exciting-news

07.01.2022 My last day in Dubai was spent exploring the Old city, spice Souk and a boat ride down the Dubai Canal. I stopped off to see the Dubai Museum in an old fort. Then decided to walk through the old souk, that was not a good idea. It was situated where the old souk would have been but is now full of Nick knacks, lots of the same thing and pushy men. I was the only woman and felt very uncomfortable. Got out as soon as I could straight onto the Big Bus ... I should have walked through the heritage village, it looks amazing, instead I took photos from the boat. I did wander through the Spice Souk, much nicer with more tourists and shop keepers were also less pushy. Did not see the gold souk as the hotel pool was calling me. I have loved my stop over in Dubai, it is a great example of what can be achieved with private enterprise and lots of money. They built a whole city in 10 years with amazing roads, transport system, one of a kind buildings, education and healthcare. We cant even seem to finish upgrades on the Bruce highway in 10yrs Dubai is very clean, not a speck of rubbish, no homeless to be seen? And lots to see, it would be an architects dream. I would definitely stop over here again with the family.

07.01.2022 Day 3 of the Back-Roads tour of the Cotswolds. Today was a day of impossibly beautiful towns and villages. Starting at Stow-on-the-Wold, with the oldest Inn dating back to 947Ad. Amazing antique stores and a gorgeous village. Then onto Bilbury, voted the Most Beautiful Village in England from 1086. ... Tetbury had a quaint undercover central market square-now hosting gorgeous leather products. We enjoyed The most amazing High Tea in Castle Combe. The best part was it is served in Annas house. So we are able to have a look inside one of these cottages, you get a real feel for life through the years. Last stop was Lacock, another perfect village. The highlight is seeing Lacock Abbey where Downton Abbey was filmed. Now we have arrived in Bath, where we will spend the next 2 nights.

05.01.2022 Loved the Burgers #burgerkitchenchattychatty

04.01.2022 Day 4 of our Tour was a walking tour of Bath for the morning. We spent an hour touring the actual Roman Bath. Last time I was here we just walked in and took a photo. Now they have an amazing interactive display/Museum that we can walk through to experience Roman life in that time, and see the excavations. Even the womens toilet has a view of the Baths. ... Then a relaxed walking tour to the Cathedral, the new spa, The Circle and the Royal Crescent. We had a tour in No1 Royal Crescent to see how people lived in Victorian Times. Did you know they did not smile in Portraits because all their teeth were rotten and falling out by 25yrs and they only bathed once a year- they must have been smelly #BackRoadsTouringCo #Bath

04.01.2022 A bit of fun- What is your medieval name? First name based on day of birth, your surname was chosen by Month of birth.

02.01.2022 Day 5 of our Back-Roads Heart of England Tour. We started at Longleat Country home, looks amazing and so regal from the outside, entry and hall are just as awe inspiring. THEN they show us the private rooms of Alexander Thynn, Viscount Weymouth. They are disturbing, bizarre and so sad to ruin such a beautiful stately home. No pictures are allowed as it is their private residence, and I guess they are able to change it as they choose, so you will just have to experience... it yourselves one day. All I can say is it looked like a childs paint store exploded and the wall murals are not for everyones taste. Next we saw boats passing through the Kennet & Avon Canal, so impressive and still working the same way it did when designed during the Industrial Revolution. Stopping briefly at Avenbury stone circles, they are impressive. With a large man built moat and large stones dating back 4000BC. Now back in London to end our tour, it was very sad to part. We have all had an amazing tour and experienced so much. Back-Roads offered the perfect Cotswolds tour. It was relaxed, with short drives and many stops. Giulia, our guide, was so knowledgeable with local history and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend a Back-Roads tour to any of my customers. #BackroadstouringCo #Cotswolds

01.01.2022 Samurai Museum in Tokyo was awesome #samuraimuseumtokyo
