22.01.2022 How are you going mama? Like, really really- how are you? It’s so easy to just reply ‘good’ everytime someone asks: and hey- most of the time that’s the easiest way to answer. We are mums. Obviously we are tired. Obviously we are busy. But lately I’ve been thinking about... Janelle. Not Janelle the mum. Just. Janelle. I think there is always a loss of self identity after having a child. And I don’t think that changes... even if it’s the fourth child. All I feel like right n...ow is that I am a mum- and don’t get me wrong- being a mum is the best job in the world. It’s amazing - but I am more then that: I am more than just being a mum. A cleaner. A laundromat. A cook. I have my own identity and it is important. So while I may not have as much time to be ‘me’- I’m going to acknowledge the way I’m feeling and start thinking on ways I can be ‘me’ again. How about you Mama? 22.01.2022 Sleeping baby, hot tea and a tasty cookie. What mama dreams are made of right? Especially when said tasty cookie helps keep me keep up with this little guys demands! They say boys love boobs... they weren’t wrong (from birth to forever right? ) . . @milkygoodness_ lactation cookies honestly have helped give my milk supply the best boost! I used them all through mY BF journey with Elsie, and now again with Zeke. I had so many issues with low supply with Myla and I know ...my supply is very temperamental. So It’s actually incredibly comforting to know that eating a cookie or two can mean Zeke is guzzling down a few feeds later and I don’t have to worry or think too much more about it. I don’t know if it’s because you’re my last or because you’re my son, but knowing you’re growing up and you’ll be running circles around me one day makes me tear right up just stay my snuggly newborn forever please

18.01.2022 They see me rollin’ So first things first. I’m a pram snob. Like. 4 kids, 6 years... 7 prams When it comes to something that is meant to help you while you’re out and about- it needs to tick ALL the boxes! So when I fell pregnant with Zeke, I knew I needed to find a double pram that would help me reign the kids in when I left the house. So when @babybeeprams reached out to me to see if I wanted to try their new DUO 2 I jumped straight into the research on it. I didn’t w...ant to have a pram (even as a collaboration) that I didn’t actually like or gave me grief! Looking online it seemed to tick all the boxes...but would it really be that amazing? The answer is YES. Yes it really is. Honestly, I’m stoked. And I’ve been extra critical - just for you guys (because that’s the whole reason I work with brands- to show YOU something GOOD and useful!) and it still ticks all the boxes (yesterday we pushed through the worst gravel, over the biggest bumpy train tracks and up some mega hills- and the pram went ). 15.01.2022 His face when I tell him there is no holiday care this week, so we don’t have any solo days together where we can just snuggle and be lazy But- lucky he loves his sisters and almost sleeps better with a busy loud house Happy hump day friends . . 13.01.2022 So yesterday I learnt that this little guy LOVES it when I sing to him #heartmelt I also realised that I apparently forget every song I’ve ever known when it’s time to sing ... so I just make up random words and turn it into a tune So tell me: do you sing to your babies? And what’s your go-to lullaby to sing?
11.01.2022 This goes out to the mamas who are up late tonight, or most nights. Your babes are sleeping. But yet you’re still up. You know the night is getting late, but you just need some more time. Your body needs the sleep, but your mind can’t pass up the peace and quiet the late night brings. Even though you’re yawning, another Netflix episode sometimes seems nicer than heading off to bed, where broken sleep with your children needing you awaits. I know your bed isn’t what it used to... be, but I want to remind you that this season is so short, in the long days of motherhood. Our darlings won’t always need another feed or cuddle. They’ll stop calling out because they are scared and need comfort. So enjoy that extra episode, that moment to yourself. And when its time to go to bed (knowing it’s probably not for long), remember that one day (after 10hrs of incredible uninterrupted sleep) we will look back and smile at those beautiful cuddles, kisses and extra feeds throughout the night. 11.01.2022 He needed extra snuggles today. Some days he has patches where he isn’t happy, is more clingy and becomes unsettled- but it usually doesn’t last the whole day. But today he barely lasted 10 minutes in his bed, and basically hung out with me all day. I pulled out all the tricks too. The 5 s’s definitely did the job in witching hour What’s your baby trick? Something you know will always settle them or help make life a little easier with a newborn??

08.01.2022 New hair, New bed Splash of paint, some furniture and decor changes and Elsie now has a new bedroom she will share with her brother. Plus... a big girl bed! We only made the decision last week to move Elsie out of her cot. She is so tiny, but we were hoping to use that to our advantage (too small to climb in and out!). She had her first night in it last night and just like her sisters did, she went perfectly oh and I gave her a fringe- because she is a toddler now ...and super ridiculously adorable Will share the rest of their room soon . Hot tip: We use pool noodles (tape 3 together like a triangle) under the fitted sheet as a bed rail! Hidden heap ($6), and also an easy transition later to no rail at all (take a noodle away at a time!).
