When women make strong choices about elective caesarean and can be supported with delayed core clamping and immediately meeting their baby (rather than via resus units and paeds review) it shows another version of advocacy. 02.01.2022 Our model is different to many midwifery models as we are all risk and often have lots of high risk mamas. Our mix of women seeking home birth has been around 15% of our clients this year with increases from this for periods during COVID...... I also don’t want to jinx myself because we could end up with one or two more sneaking in quickly to end 2020 but I am pretty amazed at the #rockstarmums of 2020. We definitely felt the effects of COVID - esp in Melbourne so I reckon this is a great outcome for a difficult year. #mymidwivesfamily #2020 #covid_19 #waitingforbabies #birthoutcomes
