12.01.2022 Ever had any problems with creative block? Check out this tip from some of the biggest players in the creative industry. This is one tip that will help straight away, if you haven't tried it yet...... Everybody knows companies like Pixar, Disney, and Marvel. Each and every year they come up a multitude of creative products, and it seems like there is no end to their creativity. What does that have to do with creative block? Allow me a minute to explain. I used to remember times when I had a very hard time coming up with ideas for paintings. Even my Portraits and Caricatures seemed lifeless. Landscapes looked boring and mechanical, and still life's were....well..still lifeless. Until I came across a particular lecture about Concept Art. Concept artists make it there job to come up with creative ideas every single day, and by the tonne. During the lecture he mentioned that with these companies there was one underpinning idea, they all believed was the most important...STORY! Yes, you heard right, STORY. Sometimes in our rush as artists to create something BEAUTIFUL, we forget to create something MEANINGFUL. It's said that "a picture speaks a thousand words". What are you saying? Have you lost your story? Your message? In the pursuit of beauty? The next time you sit down to plan your painting or paint. Write down the thousand words that will make your story. The thousand words that will "paint your picture". The rest will flow from that story. To Your Great Success!
