21.01.2022 Here we go again! Like everything in 2020, COVID-19 has seen a delay for the 2020 Qld Blue Light’s Blue EDGE program at the Mount Morgan State High School. But we are back and ready to go! In 2019, the program was successfully completed in terms 2 and 4, seeing over 30 students participating across the programs from grades 7-11.... After that success, and the continual support from the Queensland Blue Light Association, Mount Morgan Police could not turn down the opportunity to support the program for another run. Working closely with local businesses, the Mount Morgan State High School and the Mount Morgan Police, are looking forward to another successful 8 week program! The Blue EDGE program is designed to engage students in physical activity, personal hygiene, healthy eating practices (Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!) and prepare the students for a day of learning! Today saw the participants completing the first of 2 fitness testings, which includes the Beep test, push ups and sit ups. The participants will then complete these 3 activities again at the end of the program, hopefully seeing an improvement and setting a new personal best! This morning’s session finished up with a game of dodge ball (Constable DAVIS was eliminated multiple times) and then a cooked breakfast supplied by Mumma Kath’s Kitchen. Keep an eye on this space for more updates over the next 8 weeks #BlueEDGE #healthyhabits
